Another song about airports and cheesy chips

I like the Tyne and the Cluny, and I actually used to drink on Shields Road when there were a couple of 'Tap and Spile' pubs there. Late 80's early 90's?

But the road definitely seems to have gone down hill in terms of the pubs there now. I remember a few years ago dropping a bike off to get serviced and one of the pubs near the shop was heaving with drinkers, and it was 9.30am!

that'll be the Raby ,full of Ne'er- do -wells and layabouts
Burglars broke in and decorated it
Sawdust on the floor is last nights furniture
Mice have got rent books
toilet rolls hanging out to dry

all of the above apply

It may well have been the Raby.

No matter how many times I see it, it's still a bit bizarre to see people drinking in a pub around 9 or 10am and they're drinking to get drunk.

The only other place I've seen it is in some of the pubs around the Grainger Market.

I reckon I'll stick to the Ouseburn pubs and consign the good pubs on Shields Road to memory.
