Most places do that mind. I’ve never worked anywhere that hasn’t, but I managed to escape annual reviews for years thanks to working a load of fixed term contracts.

It's more like "Fuck sake, have I got to do everything? I need to do XY and Z by the end of the day, I'll deal with this later today if I have the time but probably tomorrow" then spending the majority of the day zoning out.
