AN Press conference - CANCELLED

I wonder how many people on here have been loyal to their current employer when a new employer offers them a much better package. It's just a job to these guys, and to be fair to AN, he's never done the whole badge-kissing bollocks that some managers do.

If he's gone, then you can't blame him if the package is so much better. I don't think he owes us anything as fans, and doesn't deserve some of the comments on these threads. All of the blame rests with the board, who think a rolling contract is anything other than a liability if things go well and people notice him. Things have gone well, and presuming we haven't gone to offer a better contract then the blame is squarely with them.

Of course some fans think the manager should love the club as much as us. For those fans, the damage is arguably done even if he stays.

He could have at least taken charge of the match tomorrow.

You’re right. But I think there’s fault on both sides here. A shoddy breakdown.

I'm still not convinced this is happening. Sky are notorious for making stuff up for click bait and views. It makes no sense why he would travel down in a car for talks. You have talks over the phone and fax, and you don't drive you go in the Coates's helicopter. I smell BS.
I genuinely now think you're on the wind up. Everything about this now says that he is on his way to join yous and you're coming out with stuff like this. We have multiple reliable sources (not just Sky) saying that he is literally driving down to have talks and you say you're still not willing to believe it?

Surely he must have seen how shit things are at Stoke last week? There was hardly anyone there and the whole place had a shit atmosphere hanging over it. Compare that to how the sol has been bouncing then the fact that he's even talking to them means it financially driven and literally nothing else.
A good atmosphere doesn't trump a shit load more cash on the hip, full control over transfers, and being closer to his family.

Why is it every time we start to put something together our manager is poached and it all turns to shit?

Really feels like when England came calling for big Sam again but at least that was more understandable...

It does but it doesn't make sense to me.

From Stokes point of view I get it, hes a class manager. On a rolling contract here so I'm assuming he can get 3/4 years with you on more money and closer to where his family home is. From your clubs perspective, he'll be cheap as its a short term contract here.

f***ing gutted.

If he’s gone to Stoke for talks then there is no way back. Club to blame here as he should of been tied down to a long term contract with assurances on recruitment. Shit show again SAFC..

Of course there is. He could hear them out, as he’s entitled to do, and then decide he’d rather stay here. Happens all the time.

Who Neil ? We all said why are we not tying him down on a nee deal after promotion , I don’t blame him if we are paying him peanuts with a rolling contract. KLD is responsible of leafing this club so get on the phone to Neil and tell him to turn his car around
Maybe we tried? We don't know. Seems odd to assume the club have messed up when all we "know" is that Stoke have made an approach and Neil seems interested in talking to them

Feels like when allardyce and DB left the club this.

Absolute shit show again from the top not tiring him down to a contract where we could have at least got some compensation for him.

Same as Stewart’s contract situation……

If he was in a car on his way to stoke having cancelled a presser there’s be at least one crappy mobile phone shot of him in a car.

I don’t believe he’s gone. I’ll believe it when I see or hear him say it’s happening

Coz he wants more money. Pure and simple. That's his motivation. You can decide if that's ok or not. I can't stomach the little prick for that choice but up to you...
