AN Press conference - CANCELLED

I'm still not convinced this is happening. Sky are notorious for making stuff up for click bait and views. It makes no sense why he would travel down in a car for talks. You have talks over the phone and fax, and you don't drive you go in the Coates's helicopter. I smell BS.
Bloke from the athletic said it first, hes as accurate as can get regarding us

The press conference will reveal only that he's off. It won't be Neil taking it. It will be Dodds or Proctor, with the official club line of, can't comment at the moment while the process is ongoing etc.

I'm completely out if he goes. Only reason he would leave is if we're a mess behind the scenes. Don't want to be part of this circus anymore. Leaving for Stoke is a clear indication that we're not heading where we think we're heading.
Out? What do you mean?

If he traveling down by car it's clearly a done deal. It really is that simple. Talks have already took place

See ya

I wonder how many people on here have been loyal to their current employer when a new employer offers them a much better package. It's just a job to these guys, and to be fair to AN, he's never done the whole badge-kissing bollocks that some managers do.

If he's gone, then you can't blame him if the package is so much better. I don't think he owes us anything as fans, and doesn't deserve some of the comments on these threads. All of the blame rests with the board, who think a rolling contract is anything other than a liability if things go well and people notice him. Things have gone well, and presuming we haven't gone to offer a better contract then the blame is squarely with them.

Of course some fans think the manager should love the club as much as us. For those fans, the damage is arguably done even if he stays.

Appreciate your consistent stance on this but you can see how it doesn't look good at all from our point of view. Several different news sources now reporting the same thing, it looks shitty doesn't it.

Why would he be in a car heading to Stoke? Surely they’d just do it on Teams or something?

If he’s willing to drive there then that would suggest he has left Sunderland surely

Course there is. The club could give him more security and the autonomy he deserves.

In short - it’s within the Club’s gift to give him more than Stoke are offering. On both fronts.

If he goes, something is clearly rotten behind the scenes.

he is responsible for his own actions
Who Neil ? We all said why are we not tying him down on a nee deal after promotion , I don’t blame him if we are paying him peanuts with a rolling contract. KLD is responsible of leafing this club so get on the phone to Neil and tell him to turn his car around
