When he was ere we didn't get promoted
 

He performed well for Man U last season in a team that struggled. He was their top scorer in the PL and scored 11 in 43 overall which is an excellent return for an attacking midfielder. He performed well at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025 as well last year.

Some of the comments on here are silly. He's a class player but he's out of form. Happens to all players.
 
He’s overrated by us. We saw him in the championship ripping defences apart. The prem is a massive step up and he doesn’t seem to be improving. There is no way I’d pay massive money for him. I think there’s better value out there

I don't think we over rated him, I think he felt the love and his performances mirrored it. Top player in there, genuinely think he's made for Sunderland and not ManU.

I do agree that there is also better value out there too, it would take a huge fee and wage to get him. At this point it would be a fan pleaser signing and not a sensible 1. Good job I've got no sense! BRING HIM HOME! ❤️ 😂
