With the Yoda cuddly toy?
That's how Jagger says it.And Dinasour?
About four hours at a time seems to be conventional wisdom regarding ability to concentrate on difficult tasks.
I do think that workplaces that offer 'perks' like football tables, and the occasional free food orders do so to keep people at work for longer hours (and less pay).
That's how Jagger says it.
We started having them on a Thursday too and would get earlier and earlier. The floor we were on was hidden away from the rest of the company and no one came in. So we decided that our 3pm planning meeting that it would be good to have beer with it. Was great.Heathens. We usually wait until Friday for our beers here. We got a giant jenga in but got bored of setting it up all the time, and the novely of Street Fighter II on the SNES wore off after a bit.
Me anarl - yellow 'un. It's still there in the drawer at home I think. I wore it for me Uncle's wedding. I was 12.I had a Tasmanian devil tie. It was 1995 and my first office job when I was 19.
There are still the odd one around wearing them cartoon ties. Mind I'd love to see someone wearing them Fred Flintstone jeans you got in Geordie Jeans.
And Dinasour?
Diner Sours?OP missed his calling as a marketing bod for a sweet company

Diner Sour?
Diner Sours?
Sour sweets in the shape of dinosaurs man - in fact I can’t believe such a thing doesn’t already exist
I hate agile with a passion - the place where i work adopted it not only for the dev guys but the service desk as well - so not only do i now have to look after service desk tickets for my site i now have a shit load of project work to do as well as attend a "stand up" every f***ing day to tell people what i havent done yesterday. I'm basically on my own on site and now have even less time than i had before as i have to attend these stupid meetings and then also sit and score projects and then have retrospective meetings as well.
Does my tits in.
I've a shopping bag of old ties somewhere. Might have to see if mine is still there and wear it one day.Me anarl - yellow 'un. It's still there in the drawer at home I think. I wore it for me Uncle's wedding. I was 12.
This place wouldn't be very popular otherwise. The whole idea of allowing staff a bit of leniency when taking a break is that on average, people aren’t productive for extended periods and anyone who says they are is normally bullshitting.
Plus, if you’re bashing away at a difficult problem it’s often best to get away and think about something else.
Disclaimer, we don’t have any of this stuff where I work. Very much business wear and no zany break out activities. If I want to get away from something tricky I’m working on for 10 mins I have to go for a walk.
I thought Silicon Valley and the IT crowd were comedies - or appears they are in fact documentaries. Does shit like this really go on? Is it commonplace? The wildest we get is when a cake comes in for a birthday
Messing about on the lap top, and playing ping pong all day sounds a mint job.Went to have a chat with a director of a company earlier on in the week about possible opportunities at the company, a big thing he mentioned was that I would need to fit into the culture of the company.
The dress code on that day seemed to be shorts and zany comedy T-shirts or shit with Atari symbols etc on. Staff seemed to be just f***ing about chatting shit or playing ping pong, hangng about in 'break out' areas or on their laptops in the cafe, they seem to have loads of 'fun' days etc......I sort of decided I couldn't work there by this. Turns out they're not hiring anyways.
But Ive come away thinking, is this what modern office environments are like? I'm more of a tradional suit or at least a pair of slacks and buttoned shirt type of man, I like to keep work away from socialising, get to work, do a full days graft before leaving and getting home and taking the work clothes of is a demarkation point to try and switch off from work. To me if your staff have time to piss about, you hav etoo many staff.
Do i need to maybes broaden my thoughts on this to fit into new companies? This is my first real exposure of looking for employment outside of my company that Ive had.
Where do I even buy a funny Bart Simpson t-shirt???
