Allardyce and his obsession with...

Foreign imports, attitudes and habits have ruined the game, imho. We've ended up with a neutered version of a man's game played in carpet slippers instead of boots with a balloon instead of a casey played by nanny-pamby, diving, cheating cowards, controlled by possibly corrupt spineless wannabees. I sympathise with BSA, more power to his elbow, less to Marouane Fellaini's.
Yours
Grumpy old git.

His obsession with clean sheets has concerned me more. It's cost us wins when we've looked comfortable. We would sit back uneccessarily and freeze. His constant ramblings to the press played there part in us dropping points.

Agreed.

One thing that worries me is that, much like his mate who has here before, none of this will be his fault if we go down. He'll be the first to pat himself on the back if we stay up but will be off like a shot blaming everyone else if he fails.

The one and only thing that 'worries me' is being relegated.

What does it matter if he has some slightly cranky ideas, most of these managers do don't they?

And if he pats himself on the back for saving us I'll be next in the queue, if we go down I won't care who's fault it is.

Surely, the overriding 'worry' is whether we stay up or not, I couldn't give a monkey's who, why or where.

I think that has been a lot to do with the players shitting themselves and also being shit rather than his tactics. Many an occasion he would be screaming at them to push out and get forward and they would ignore the crap out of him or just simply be unable to do as he instructs.

I really hope you're not talking about Southampton ........ if you are you weren't there.

Fair enough but reading other threads everyone just seems to be all of a sudden having a pop.

I think it's more to do with his obsession with not getting beat. Which is fine, but I'd rather lose 1 win 1 than draw 2.

The draws he seems to play for each week, aren't helping us at all.

Lose the 3 dms and have a crack, then I'd be off his back.

Remember a few years ago he came out with the "Sam Allardici" dogs hit

Huge chip on his shoulder about foreign managers like.

I think he's got a point personally. Yes we've had some very good foreign managers over here. Mourinho, ancellotti, Wenger etc but also some f***ing awful ones as well. Gross, Ramos, Santini etc.
Going foreign is the fashionable thing to do which given so many owners are foreign is understandable but people would do well to remember the best managers we've had in this country have all been British.

Kerpow.

I couldn't care less about past trophies. The fact is the Dutch fella (for whatever reason) was taking us down for certain. BSA has given us a chance and is not the long ball merchant the red tops would have you believe.
Back of the net again, a bending, dipping shot into the top corner. Too many false myths about Sams approach.

This is conveniently and repeatedly ignored by those that dont like him.

Thank you very much for posting this. I've lost track of the number of times I've seen this happen. If it's frustrating and annoying me then heaven knows what it's doing to him.

I think it's a bit of a myth in itself. The Mags game he was shouting for them to push out. Spurs and Southampton we went 5 at the back though for example.

He has obsessed all season about not losing and keeping clean sheets to turn defeats into draws - he even admitted that it had worn off on the players.

The thing is we aren't very good though. We haven't got enough quality to keep posession hence the long diagnols to Defoe as an out ball. To me allardyce has got as much as he can from what he's working with. By keeping it tight it gives us a base and allows us to stay in games for longer. If we were more expansive we'd be long gone by now.

Nail on head.
