Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Great post mate. Could be some truth in that. My lad is 16 and he doesn't 'get' how big we really are as he has mainly seen us in championship and league 1. I keep saying we are massive. So, could be alot of truth in your post mate. I just think to put it simply the owner doesn't realise how big a club we are and the potential and the 'model' is a myth to me mate...it just means doing it on the cheap but say it's a 'model'.
I think the expectation point is important. There is no divine right however when we are outside the top division I think we should strain every sinew to get back in it. That’s not our current strategy. In fact it’s probably impossible as in stands because of how we operate . That’s why there is a disconnect for a lot of people

Wouldn't say it's a baptism of fire for him. He's had 12 months and a loan now, so it's an opportunity to stake his claim.. also hope he bangs one in and gets MOTM
A loan during which he played a grand total of 106 minutes. He’s scored 1 goal in his senior career. Expecting him to lead the line away at Cardiff is gross mismanagement from Speakman.

If at the end of the Sheff Wed game we’d been told that we would have recruited zero strikers before the start of the following season there would have been hell on and rightly so.

Hull have taken over £30m in sales and spent £5m, how is that showing ambition?
I seen a stat earlier about the mess hull are in.
Out of the 14 players who played the most minutes for them last season, only 4 of them are still there.

Major rebuild needed. Would do well to be mid table given such an overhaul. Add a new manager to that as well!

I know RLB wants to play Jobe on the left side of a midfield 3, but I'd be using him upfront and putting either Rigg or Adil in the team.

2nd half bring Mayenda off the bench to go at a (hopefully) tired defence. I'd happily be wrong, but I just don't think he's ready to be starting games at the moment.

I don’t think Adil fits the system of three 8s. It’s questionable whether Rigg does so early in his career. I think he possibly does, but he could also be more like Foden, who doesn’t. Need to see more of him. Seen enough of Adil.

I wouldn't play Adil as an 8 tho. He'd be going straight behind Jobe as a 10. With a two man of Neil and Browne in the middle.

If I was playing Rigg, I'd leave him as an 8. I think he's progressing well and has plenty of energy about him to fit in there.

Two different options with a bit more experience rather than just punting Mayenda up top and hoping for the best. That's my take on it anyway. If Mayenda does start, I'll be hoping the lad can stick the ball in the net asap and get some confidence up for all our sakes.

Bang on mate.

Thing about Speakman and the striker situation is his ego. Hes come this far without one and the egotistical prick wants to seem cleverer than everyone else.

He wont sign one so if things go well he can point to fact he was right all along. If goes wrong will just blame head coach. Even if hes hung them out to dry without an assistant and very little support.

This would be the Evans that played most of last season 🤷‍♂️ Not having a replacement for Evans going into last season was definitely a failure though. Dack was kind of an Evans substitute but barely played and was mostly ineffective. I see addition of Browne as a definite improvement on last season. If the transfer window closes and there is no striker you have a point about incompetence but at the moment I will give them a little bit of slack. The Will Still episode and whole Head Coach recruitment process was very poor, hopefully we have a competent coach in place now but he is going to need support.

The Browne signing and managing to sign Rigg need applauding, not losing any the decent players too.

Everything else, abysmal
