Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

So spunk away 1 million on a loan player that is only going to get used if wecan't beat a teams press, in a league where most teams sit back against us? Do you actually think about what you're saying or just like to have a whinge for the sake of it

Again would you rather we just succumb to the demands of other clubs and pay over the odds just to 'get the deal done'?
I'd rather we realised that strikers cost money. We baulk at paying 3/4 million for a striker because he is older than 29.
But we won't pay 10 million for young strikers like a Simms or a Stansfield.
The truth is we want a striker dirt cheap and it's not going to happen. How many Burstows and Hemirs are we going to bring in before the penny drops.

Agree. It was a CB crisis that did us in the end. With Batth and Ballard in that team we’d have held on in the second leg. IMO of course, well obviously never know

Gelhardt was a decent non scoring striker for us  He linked up well with Clarke, Diallo and Roberts
He caused a lot of bother for teams did Gelhardt, but it did signal the start of the models strange fascination with not scoring “strikers”.

At the time we were only a couple of points away from the play offs
We chased Moore for the whole of the January window. We were told he was our number 1 target
What happened

He ended up with a better offer from a club that was willing to pay more than us. He would not have made that much of a difference to us last year

Rightly or wrongly we chucked it in the bin after January and we were playing terribly, Moore wouldn’t have changed that. So why spend a fortune on someone that would hand merely improved our league position by a place or two?

Reasoned argument isn’t going to change your mind regardless of how many people disagree with you so you just crack on peddling your negative agenda marra

You tell us as I’ve not seen any signed since.

Do we or trying to get the best possible deal for the club and not just pay what the selling club wants. We won't pay £10m a young striker because we don't have £10m to blow on one player, where do you think this money comes from?

Not like the glory days of getting Will Grigg to sign.

Or maybe we can get the same striker they are demanding 3/4 million for, for 1/2 million by using our advantageous bartering position as the player has publicly said he wants to be here. It's nothing to do with not wanting to pay that amount of money but we don't see value in that anmount and can get a better deal with him.

Have you never negotiated for something ever?

Yes I have and you have to be prepared to walk away because you have viable alternatives. Not sure we are in a position to do that

I like how no one has any idea of the finances involved, yet have decided it’s done based on nothing else than pure imagination.
Think people assume it's done due to Roker report yesterday and Di Canio's Knees post, nobody has a clue how much we've paid/offered but the idea it's done isn't based on imgaination
