Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Good signings help the team improve. It's not rocket science.
It can't be good for morale when you know you have nobody.to score goals

Nobody can dispute the failings of the club, not to bring in a Striker with reputation has seen us struggle, at times last season our failure to load players into the oppositions box meant the likelihood of us scoring was less.
We are not Man City.
We need a change of style + a decent Forward player/plan to progress this season.

They are linked though . Surely you can see that. Mowbray left because he was moaning about the strikers. Remember him saying he had to play the young strikers

Yes but a good manager has the strikerless team in and around the play-offs, bad managers have them in the bottom half. A good coach is the most important thing.

Our owners have put in an extra almost 20 million quid to get us where we are, not even including last season. Do you know how to count?
And yet the biggest club in the championship by far is still in it

I agree but in the end even Mowbray realised he couldn't go any further without a decent striker

If we are the biggest (we probably aren't) then it's not by far. We have a good history and get good attendances, means nothing in todays game where all the money comes from TV and sponsorships etc.

We were languishing in league one a couple of years ago, club size and history doesn't get you promoted

Sorry to break it to you, but we are not the biggest by far at all. One of the biggest, yes, but history counts for fuck all. Hate it when people use that argument. Getting 40k+ crowds does not give us a divine right to demand success.

As I mentioned before, the system is broken. You can invest as much as you want but parachute clubs will always have advantage just existing. Keiffer Moore when you may get play-offs is a bad gamble, Kieffer Moore when you are sitting in 2nd is a good gamble.

Exactly, that's why you need to be prudent with your investments. Spunking random millions on Moore type loans is not that.

Should be signing a competent striker and trying to get out of the league though

I think a public statement about leaving the club qould qualify as a transfer request tbf
Probably not in contractual terms . Unless he has actually already put a formal request in . Perhaps Caen see him as saleable, so he announces hes off, but only at their price, so if he wants to choose a lesser bid he has to put a formal in . Just a thought anyway.
