Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

The fact he isn’t training and not named in squad is very positive for us. Player is obviously digging his heels in. Think it will happen as rarely is this situation resolved and the player stays….
aye so we get to pay more money for a player who wont be fit until October, toppa.

Well not a chance we got £5m because he'd done absolutely nothing and played fewer than 90 minutes, his contract length isn't going to change that really. A fee has never been reported from what I can see but we can take a decent guess at it.

However, if Speakman miraculously did manage to get £5m based on what Lihadji had done then build the bloke a statue.
And so can @Father Jack Hackett make a guess at it. He went to Saudi too if I’m not mistaken, not FJH. I’m amazed how some people can be so adamant they are right at something they freely admit they know nothing about whilst completely denigrating others, but there you go
And of course his length of contracts does affect what people have to pay. I’m not saying he was or wasn’t £5m but football is a funny owld game

The fact that Caen are getting increasingly frustrated is good for us too, they don’t want an unhappy player in their squad and the pressure is seemingly building.

We play three in the middle now. Jobe - Neil - Browne, with Jobe going up top to make it a two when we're out of possession and Neil sitting deeper when we're in possession. So if Ekwah leaves that would leave us with Rigg, Aouchiche and Ba as cover, Rigg and Jobe won't be trusted to play that Neil role yet and Ba and Aouchiche aren't really CMs, so it leaves us in a perilous position for cover. Unless Triantis or Lenz are seen as possibles, I'd say we're a little light even before Ekwah potentially leaves.
That is exactly how I see it as well.
I'm just going to assume nothing will happen with Mendy until the last couple days of the window.
Aye same here, I'm basically assuming this is the squad until the international weekend in September.

"the attack is struggling as Alexandre Mendy is in individual recovery, still hoping to join Sunderland"

Absolute farce this.
Its so unprofessional from the player, caen and yet the biggest joke is that we still have no strikers!

has Ollie Norwood got a club yet, he came for a medical before Browne signed didn't he?
