Depends how they are going to bankroll the club really doesn’t it? It makes absolutely zero sense to hold him hostage but it’s entirely possible for them to do so just to prove a point if they feel like they can afford to do that.

Can’t imagine they’ll be paying M’Vila a small wage so they must be spending.

I suppose they could flex their muscles, but it’s a massive risk as they’ve already tried to convince him to stay and he has said no.

We all want it done as soon as possible, and your suggestion that there’s no other targets is a bit worrying. I’d like to think they were confident it was a matter of time….but we’ve been burned by that before,

I don't know how else you can look at it, we've clearly decided it's Mendy or bust. Although 'bust' in this case is a desperate loan of some shite PL striker on deadline day.

I wish KLD and Speakman would stop messing about and pay the required fee to get Mendy done.
They might save a bit by hanging on but it's false economy if we miss out on promotion by a couple of points because we didn't have a decent striker for the first 3 games.
The way they have dealt with the striker situation is a disgrace!
