"12 month rolling contract" - I`m guessing that probably means till end of season with the option for both parties to extend another 12 months each season ?

February to February contract would be bizarre in English football.

My memory might be playing a trick on me but I’m certain he’s not the 1st safc manager to have a 12 month rolling contract

Good luck to the lad. No beef at all with Alex Neil and the fact that he’s had such little fanfare means he can join the rest of us in having been fucked over by Speakman, KLD and the Spivs.

Speakman and his core principles nonsense.

There is no faith in you absolute clowns, don’t for one minute think any sane supporter has any. Also, don’t misconstrue support for Neil as support for yourselves. The lot of you need to get out of the club.

Link to GooGle translate Mackem?

Sod a press conference. He’s straight on with things and clearly not the type to be bothered about that sort of thing (vibe taken from the interviews RR posted).

Win tomorrow and everyone will be right behind him.

Best appointment we’ve had since being relegated from the Prem.
How many times have we said this

I reckon the no conference was Neil's idea. More important to get on with the job, taking the one session he could at the AoL, and then heading off with the team to be on the touchline tomorrow. Getting his priorities right. Sorting the team is more important that spouting a few platitudes to journos.
No one was asking for a press conference, rather just a club statement several hours before being spotted at a railway station wearing club kit would have sufficed.
Amateurish behaviour.

Canning was a decent central defender for the Accies. Hopefully bring some experience in that area
Don't know anything about him but looks like he's coached at some big clubs. Was reading an article where Jesse Mersch said that Canning was impressive when they did their badges together.

“I took my badges in the US but I needed to be educated in Europe. Red Bulls had a relationship with Celtic, and Celtic sponsored me to be on the course, which I took from 2018 to the end of 2019.

Jack Ross was on the course with me and I thought he was really good, Martin Canning too. A lot of the assistant coaches in the league and some that are starting to be head coaches."

“Throughout his career, Alex has demonstrated that he can make an immediate and lasting impact. He expressed a clear vision on how he wants to take the team forward, which strongly aligns with our core principals, and we firmly believe that he can influence performances and results in the short term. We are grateful to our supporters for their patience throughout what has undoubtedly been a challenging period and thank Mike Dodds and Michael Proctor for overseeing our first-team programme in the interim. Now, our immediate priority is to support Alex and the team to ensure we deliver promotion this season and reward the faith continuously placed in us by our supporters.”

It’s ‘principles’ Kris mate

The club have utterly embarrassed themselves from start to finish. A total shambles. Nowt but a laughing stock.

Any illusion that we’ve been revolutionised and we’re now some forward thinking, well organised and cohesive organisation has been blasted to smithereens.

Well, for most. Still some think all’s wonderful

Can someone explain what does this “rolling 12 month contract” mean? For a simpleton like myself
Does it mean... SAFC always got to give him 12 months compo if we terminate his agreement BUT if he leaves us he cant work for anyone else for 12 months ?
Or he cant smoke made up fags... Roll your own only for 12 months ...

Not the worst appointment we could have made. For all the managers I’d like to have seen i have had to concede we’re a 3rd tier team and unlikely to attract the names i would have ideally preferred. He’s got my backing and i hope he does well for us.

Been a coach at real betis and leicester too

It wasn't the conference I was worried about, it was the lack of information coming from the club. Doesn't take all day to announce he is the manager.

Simple question but what time did he become safc HC, they wouldn’t make any announcement until he’d put pen to paper and we don’t know when that was
