Sits in the same camp as LJ and Parkinson for me. No improvement on either of them, bit of a pointless appointment. Hope I’m wrong and he’s a resounding success, but feels very flat at the minute and all the Defoe/Keane momentum has disappeared up the shitter.

I was yes because he is a motivational character, whom I think, could motivate the squad, whereas this bloke is as full as dishwater.
it's not true that he has done nothing in a decade. He was assistant at international level and both at Forest and coaching at Villa. His pundit role means he has maintained contacts and is involved with the game.
Neil? Sacked at every job he has had after poor results and was helping out at Crewe! A real go getter!!!
 
For me he (Neil) is next best candidate. My only worry is that on the swingometer he's probably a bit closer to LJ than to Keane and I believe what we need right now is a Keanesque straight talking motivator. Straighten them up or ship them out. If Neil gravitate towards too much football this division will catch him out.
