Akpom

I think this would be a good addition. He’d come back to the championship full of confidence and I think he’d do well in our free flowing side. Would be another relatively big signing, considering the fee paid for him a short while ago.

Funny how people wouldn't want this guy at 29 and would love Mendy at 30 odd. The times I saw him play for Boro he looked immense. At his age, he should be in his prime for a couple of years yet. As long as we don't how a 5 year contract at him, what's not to like? Good experience for the squad.

Because he had the first good season of his career at 27. He was largely poor before that.

He isn't good enough for the premier league so it would be a short term signing.

Wigan signed Wyke after one good season...

At 27, a player is often just moving into their best years, which was my point really.

Chill ya beans. I think Boro would definitely come in with an offer if this was true. And instantly I think it would rule us out due to him playing for them before.

I'd have him here.
Not necessarily. He might have been happy to leave Boro. We don't know anything about behind the scenes. Sunderland are better option than Boro too.

It’s very admirable that we are showing great ambition and desire to sign players of immense quality and profile. This is the sort of ambition we need whenever we go up. If we ever go up. But I am concerned it might be a stretch too far. I’d like a Mazda MX5 but I can’t afford it.

WMS lads were saying we wouldn't be after a number 9 - more someone who can play across the front line. Isidor will always be seen as first choice (assuming he stays fit of course).
"One option is to find a versatile player who has the capacity or ability to play on the left and right side and as a striker.

"It could solve the situation but at the same time it's not easy to find that type of player. So we'll see.
"

He said that a few days ago, doesn't fit Cannon and barely fits Brereton-Diaz. Just about fits Frigan but definitely more of a fit for Akpom.

There's going to be question marks over whoever we bring in - if there wasn't we couldn't afford them.

If there is such a thing as a proven striker who guarantees 20 goals a season in the Championship then whoever he is isn't in our budget anyway!
