I never said it was harsh, what i said was in parallel with other sentences it was harsh, to flip the coin were these other sentences lenient. He was sentenced according to his public standing and i am not sure if this is a true measure

THIS ^^^ if u remanded on sentenced with footy gear on it's left in ya box in reception until released.... If its brought to u on a visit as a change of clothing its refused and given bk to ya visitor after ya visit has finished to be taken home.

I think that's a horrendous idea. I think justice should be blind and ideally that the jury don't know the identity of the accused (unlikely I know) The punishment should fit the crime, not the criminal. (see crazy druggie oxford student who stabbed her boyfriend but is appealing her suspended sentence)

But justice is not blind, once a guilty plea is entered the judge/ magistrates have full history of the defendants record and sentence according to previous convictions including cautions

I think they should have access to their conviction history if found guilty but that's all.

I doubt it in their cases. I'd imagine it is scaremongering and bullshit at its finest. I'm sure majority of them lot were to be extradited anyway.

Don't get me wrong the system was fucked up in the case of those grooming gangs and still is a bit head the sand about it, due to not wanting to be seen as racist. But once they were convicted I doubt the system would then go back to letting them get up to that again!

Comparing the two cases is crazy, AJ left his home and drove somewhere to meet zn underaged girl he groomed! Alonzo did not leave his home thinking im going to kill someone.
