Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

In that case she should be sacked because he was only under suspicion at that time.

She told the club what he was accused of nothing more, don't even need to read the link.

She told the club he had messaged and kissed the girl, because he had himself admitted to that in his interview when he was arrested. It was not "speculation" at that point and it was not "an allegation". He had admitted it, and that was communicated to the club.

But Detective Inspector Aelfwynn Sampson, of Durham Police, told BBC News that after the player was arrested a year ago, she told club bosses that sexual activity had taken place and that Johnson had messaged the girl.

The plot thickens.

Did you see the bit where I said I wasn't defending him?

I wasn't saying you were. I am asking if you are equally as outraged on the internet when it's some random bloke from the street rather than someone who plays for your club?

Objection!

That's hearsay, pure and simple! Other shit groups and songs are available.
:)
It is. 100%.
I just watched the interview the Policewoman gave the BBC today. She says she spoke with MB and the club on the day of arrest.
That day, AJ was telling Stacey etc that he thought she was 16 I think, no?

Loved HearSay, me. Suzanne Shaw remains one of the greatest women ever to grace this planet.

No it wasn't, the police confirmed under oath during the trial that no details were given to the club about Johnson's interview, so they only told them the allegations, not that he'd admitted anything.

The 2 charges he admitted would have probably resulted in a fine and community service.

The charge he was convicted of, oral sex with a child is looking like 5 year sentence. That's how the courts view the seriousness of the offences, I agree.

Grooming carries with it a maximum potential sentence of 2 years and 4 months. So no, they don't view it as a "nothing charge".

In my view, it will be a while before this club can hold its head high. It will always be viewed as SAFC's decision, irrespective if she was at the helm and had the final say. That's how it works.

If true, it certainly changes my view of the club. How could it not?

I guess the point is if she remains then the stain on our club is both worse and longer lasting

"During the trial the jury was told that, by May 4, chief executive Margaret Byrne met Johnson and his barrister and she had all the messages exchanged and transcripts from police interviews."

Personally I'm happy to move on. I do however acknowledge there is a section of fans who have legitimate questions and a forum would be good for that.

We all have questions, the country has questions. Unless you're talking of people you know who are close to the case, no other fan becomes more important than any other.

It's a mess that's going to drag on and sadly the forum idea would do nothing but create a face to face live thread like this.

So it wouldn't work mate.

I think the law recently changed Keith, quite a few people now going to prison for grooming alone without ever meeting a girl, they just have to turn up thinking they were going to meet them.

A few have been sent to prison recently for grooming what they thought were under-age girls but were actually part of a sting group setup to catch people out. They turned up for the meeting so they got prison time even though no child was ever actually involved.

Dark Justice pose as 12 year olds online, pre pubescent girls to target paedophiles.

99% of 15 year olds are not pre pubescent, it's a question of scale.

I had a quick search earlier for similar cases and came across a teacher who was jailed for 16 months for grooming a 14 year at his school. However, he'd been warned previously, ignored the warning and signed up to facebook as a girl to contact her again. They were affectively going out and the poor lass had special needs with a mental age of 12.

As I said, scale.
