Indeed. In the eyes of the law she was underage (regardless of her intentions) and that's the only thing that mattered in this case.

Well I reckon there's a difference from saying he's thick and an attention seeking compared to the size of somebody's head likethat's a bit more offensive IMO.
Let's not derail the thread, you knew my point.
He isn't a "paedophile".
He's a 28 year old man about to be sent down for having his hands down the pants of a 15 year old girl who he arranged to meet in his car. What the fuck would you call him?
As soon as he pleaded guilty he was toxic and after lying and stringing the club along for nearly a year his position was completely untenable.
However, I maintain an ordinary bloke on the street wouldn't have been given a custodial sentence for those charges alone.

i think the majority of us are blacktop, and a little ashamed well, maybe feel a lot let down two, but that's just me
I think the clubs statement yesterday was poor. That wasnt a huge issue to me as many businesses make fantastically obvious fuck ups with communications in these type of situations - BP following the Deep Water Horizon disaster and VW following the software cheat scandal as examples. The fact he was in a position of power being her 'favourite player' is a massive factor on how the judge will deicide this. This wasn't some clown who met a bird and tried to tap her, he knew she idolised him and he was a 'celebrity' in her eyes and he used that to get what he wanted. The bloke's a grade a cünt and the people trying to defend need to have a word with themselves. I this was some fella caught by Dark Justice they have the pitchforks out.
I feel very let down by Johnson, I believe in innocent until guilty and he let us follow that principle knowing what he'd done.i think the majority of us are blacktop, and a little ashamed well, maybe feel a lot let down two, but that's just me
Aye makes it worse for meI haven't seen much defence of him to be truthful ........ I'd be happy to see him go away for 10 years.
However, this wasn't someone setting out to groom a stranger on the internet.
She made the initial approach, as far as I'm aware, which doesn't excuse him but the sentence may reflect that.
same hereI feel very let down by Johnson, I believe in innocent until guilty and he let us follow that principle knowing what he'd done.
But Sunderland supporters defending sex offenders is something I cant get my head around. And we are talking a child here abused by a multi millionaire - not some pissed tart in a night club who wasnt sure what she was doing. Premeditated self confessed grooming of a child.
I thought the region I was born and brought up in was better than that.
In law not a paedophile, does that mean I'm defending him no, but it means legally he's not a paedophileHe's a 28 year old man about to be sent down for having his hands down the pants of a 15 year old girl who he arranged to meet in his car. What the fuck would you call him?
The majority want to just move on mate. Put it behind us and focus on football

Maybe every fucker is just lying? That would be a huge u-turn from the police if it was true:

There's been people on here and other social media platforms blaming her.
Posts on here earlier saying this sort of thing goes on all the time and that he's only been prosecuted because of who he is. Saying it was excusable because the age of consent is lower on the continent. Seriously 28 year olds regularly meet 15 year olds for a kiss and a grope? I don't think so.
What he's done is despicable. He knew that the girl idolised him and he abused that. In doing so he's tarnished the club.
Invite a limited number of supporter groups and let them hear the club's side. Let them then feedback back to us as supporters via a statement.
This trial by media is utter bollocks
