If it is true then I expect a huge change in our top management within the week. It's not a rumour - a senior QC and a police officer said it in court. The lead investigator said it today. It's unrefuted by the Club. It happened. Accept it.
You've pulled up something from 22nd February, new details can be released
Byrne won't leave I doubt she was the only one high up who knew. It'll have been discussed and the club decided to keep Johnson as he'd help keep us up which he did whilst breaking no rules legally
Yeah this is huge news, it basically reveals that Byrne was FULLY aware of all allegations and all evidence proving beyond any doubt that Johnson was guilty. It's a chief person involved in the case confirming that our CEO was aware.
People can not just use the AJ is a liar line anymore. Big news IMO.
not guilty until charged.I suspect the club did take legal advice. That advice would probably have been that to play Johnson, despite knowing, was not illegal. Doesn't make it right.
Of course it did. I bet he wouldn't have been involved in selection if it was a fringe squad player.Exactly - I fear that this came down to money. Disgraceful.
I get that but if AJ was found not guilty then he could drag the club through all sorts of courts and do a lot of damage. Not to mention the future of the club with players thinking we would turn our backs on them instantlyBonus are not seen as guarenteed wages. If he was dropped from the team because a manager didn't like him then he'd lose out on the bonuses, but couldn't do anything about it till they touched his contracted wages. Same applies in any other business.
no but with what they knew, they did not have to play him.
It's not a coincidence the club have failed to deny such an allegation and continue to ignore it. They would respond with disgust and refute it in the strongest possible terms if this wasn't true.Yeah this is huge news, it basically reveals that Byrne was FULLY aware of all allegations and all evidence proving beyond any doubt that Johnson was guilty.

fans mate.So exiles are no longer supporters?
Having a law degree and being a criminal lawyer are not the same thing - the former is a generic qualification, the latter is a speciality; you wouldn't want a GP to carry out a heart transplant, yet both the GP and the heart surgeon would be qualified doctors, and it is the same with the law. QCs for example are only specialist in one aspect of law, so how we can expect Margaret Byrne (and I am not her biggest fan by any stretch of the imagination) can be expected to adjudicate on whatever information she had and determine that it constituted a sackable offence, before the matter went to court I do not know.HOW CAN A POST THAT SAYS 'MARGARET BYRNE IS NOT A CRIMINAL LAWYER' BE THE BEST POST IN THIS THREAD, WHEN THAT IS THE ONE AND ONLY JOB SHE HELD BEFORE JOINING SAFC, AND WHAT SHE DID HER DEGREE IN?
Edit:- It is literally the one f***ing qualification she has, a law degree.
If it is true then I expect a huge change in our top management within the week.
Also I'd expect a lot of inspectors to be losing jobs as sharing information before a case is illeagal and someone in their position is abusing the law.
However I expect most have this has come from Johnson saying it in court and there is no real evidence
If he was suspended on full contractual pay he wouldn't have had any case at all - bonuses are a side issue and can be witheld for multiple reasons.I get that but if AJ was found not guilty then he could drag the club through all sorts of courts and do a lot of damage. Not to mention the future of the club with players thinking we would turn our backs on them instantly
So why was he still pleading not guilty? Are you actually paying attention to anything that is going on? Johnson and his barrister involved the club, they gave the club the police interview transcript and the 836 whatsapp messages. The senior copper had a meeting with Byrne, in which Byrne was told he had messaged and kissed her. Clearly, the police would know what they can and cannot tell various people.
