He hadn't admitted anything in court. He had however admitted it to the Club. Different things entirely. His plea is completely irrelevant - it's a red herring thrown into the statement to distract from the real issue.
So a rumour says. As far as we know the club knew nothing and we can't say what side is telling the truth

How? The club haven't said anything about that either way. Deliberately it seems.

"Some documents were received relating to the case, which were immediately sent to Mr. Pownall for his attention. However, the club was not in a position to make any judgment on the outcome of the case"

You're saying that they were.

Or more specifically, not good for the CEO.

She has to go, it's very clear. Shameful
If you think sacking one person will clear this mess, you're mistaken. Mopping up the blood for years, I reckon. It will always be SAFC that has the fetid stink of a carcass going forward, long after she's gone.

So the club knew what he did, suspended him and brought him back it. Your happy with that are you. It's a f***ing disgrace.

On the whole I have the same opinion as you and Haway on the matter but he's right in saying this isn't anything we didn't really already know.

All it is is an officer saying he made Byrne aware of the allegations. At this point they could have only been that. We also already know that she was aware of the allegations as he was suspended then brought back. Nothing has changed with this statement

Mate stop with the faux outrage.

Hes texted, kissed & fingered a groupie. He has rightly been sacked and found guilty. People like you are baying for his blood & no doubt he will do time.

You should be ashamed of this comment.

They are accountable for continuing to select a player who they knew had sent inappropriate messages to a child, had met that child and had kissed that child.
Do you really think that the club would continue to play him without taking
legal advice, give your head a shake man.

So a rumour says. As far as we know the club knew nothing and we can't say what side is telling the truth

It's not a rumour - a senior QC and a police officer said it in court. The lead investigator said it today. It's unrefuted by the Club. It happened. Accept it.
