Sounds good to our ear, but I remember some US critics saying his accent didn’t always hold up. Had me convinced, though.

Loved the bit where McNulty had to pretend to be from "out of town" to try & get into a brothel & "tried" to do an English accent but butchered it

Christian Bale, I'd say has made a fine living convincing most he's not English. Tilda Swinton is similarly always very good.

My mate from Philadelphia thought Idris was a Baltimore native. This came up when I was criticising Americans butchering English accents and he said the reverse would be the same.

I used Idris as an example and he was straight on Wikipedia to attempt prove to me that he was raised in the NE USA.

Mr Bale states he was born in wales but he's english, bit of a tit, so he's welsh.

Appropriate Adult was brilliant and deeply disturbing if even partially accurate.

Seen some quip from some yank politician on twitter the other day about Damian Lewis doing a weird British accent. Could have been sarcasm but then he was American.

Then it couldn't be sarcasm marra.
They have no concept of it.
