Your argument is a strange one . You aren't now even suggesting he was a good player, more that he had the talent to be one and that we let him down. But that takes no account or measurement of his own failings and personal development or application. Even how his physical traits may have elevated him at youth level and there were other elements of his game which he was unable to develop.
If you look at any of those England or France U16, U17, U18, U19 squads over the years to see how many actually make it, then in most cases it will highlight that most don't develop. That can't all be due to players being played in the wrong role or not being coached.
Instead you are blaming it entirely on us and Mowbray, which is ridiculous.
At the level we were playing he wasn't anything. That was entirely his problem.
