Quite good that. Reminds me a little of Public Service Broadcasting, although comparisons in that article to Slowdive and Ulrika Spacek aren't unflattering either.
They're on at The Cluny on Thursday supporting pinkshinyultrablast.

They were my favourite band from that shoegaze scene, the period 89-91, being their best before things started going wrong. Saw them live in 5 countries during this time and were awesome live.

The double-assault of Rickenbackers not only sounded sublime, but the look on stage always looked sheer class:cool:

Also love the tracks:

Like a Daydream
Perfect Time
Unfamiliar (cracking bass line)
Taste
Seagull

Yes you are right. Ride, based in the colliery village of oxford were deffo northern scumbags.

Nee mention of Galaxie 500, shameful.

Or the band Bleach.

The track "Dipping" should have been massive hit.

Saw them live at Newcastle Mayfair supported by The Verve. Ashcroft was a total mess as were they generally, long way from Bitter Sweet Symphony et al.

Ride were quality.

Saw them headline their own festival in Slough in 91 (Slough Festival).

In the local park and only 5000 there but what a day. Also on the bill were- Slowdive, Revolver, Chapterhouse and Moose too I think.
