Dear meWin won the 1st leg, 2-1
Man U win the 2nd leg 2-1
This brings the aggy to 3-3, which forces ET
In ET, both teams score 1 more, bringing the total to 4-4
This is when away goals count twice.
Man U score 1 away goal, we score 2..
This brings the grand total to 6-5 to us.
Whats wrong with that?
Jesus Christ!
Only one of them counts as double if it ends as a draw. Not each goal!
So if you scored 3 away it wouldn't count as 6!
Do we get to Europe if we reach the final?
A lot of anger on this thread lads. Mags get warmer bloody responses!![]()
It's not over yet!you're being let off lightly compared to most of the bucknuts who've made the same error
It's not over yet!
because as above, you don't actually change the number of goals to "count double" on the scoreboard, you do the math in your head and say "team won on away goals"I still don't understand why if 2 of our 4 goals were away, that does not mean 6 if it goes to the goals count twice.
"13.5: In the Semi-Final ties, if the aggregate score is level at the end of the second game an extra half-hour shall be played.
If the aggregate scores are still level at the end of extra time the tie shall be decided by goals scored away from home counting twice.
If the teams remain equal after this procedure the tie shall be determined by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with the Laws of Association Football."
That is the score at the end of ET with 'normal' addition. Therefore to calculate the winner, away goals count as two. Bringing it to 6-5"4-4, sunderland through on away goals" is what you meant, isn't it?
that isn't how it's presented thoughThat is the score at the end of ET with 'normal' addition. Therefore to calculate the winner, away goals count as two. Bringing it to 6-5
No. Goals only count as 2 AFTER ET.[DOUBLEPOST=1390323049][/DOUBLEPOST]By your logic the score is currently 2-2...
What am I reading wrong with this then?that isn't how it's presented though
"both teams have 4 goals but Sunderland scored 2 away from home compared to man utd's 1 away from home, so sunderland win. Final score = 3-3, winner = Sunderland. That is the score at the end of ET with 'normal' addition. Therefore to calculate the winner, away goals count as two. Bringing it to 6-5
Of course.. I was just showing the math that someone would use to deduce the winner. The scoreboard would only show 4-4because as above, you don't actually change the number of goals to "count double" on the scoreboard, you do the math in your head and say "team won on away goals"
Canny bait likeYou've caught a few here.
