4th test Manchester

Few things here;

1 - The declaration will go down in history, was it the right choice?
2 - Our prep in my opinion playing Ireland serves no purpose at all.
3 - Slow over rates beyond embarrassing and we haven't helped ourselves with that. Around 30 overs lost in the first 3 days of this test alone
4 - Scheduling to prioritise the 16.4 has backfired, obviously can never predict the weather but on this occasion it's backfired. Having no test cricket in August is an absolute disgrace.
5 - The events of earlier, were embarrassing, a total lack of desire to get things moving and then to take a break :lol::oops:
6 - This is an incredibly bang average Australia test side. They dig in and are pretty methodical how they go about things, but there is absolutely nothing exciting about them. They've gone and retained The Ashes without really getting going or exciting anyone really.
7 - Durham are mint.
8 - Test cricket needs a kick up the arse, so much wrong with it.

What a stupid sport, ending it in a draw because of rain. Put a roof on the stadium, play it elsewhere, play it tomorrow, resume this test after the 5th test, so many options. Why have I got emotionally invested in it?!
Shouldn’t be able to retain on a draw either should go to a deciding 6th test if it’s level

I’m not sure anyone would be endorsing these rules if the boot was on the other foot

Weather impacting results has always been a factor. In a way, it’s what makes cricket cricket. The little idiosyncrasies of the game, the infuriating nature of some of the rules when they’re going against you, the fact that it can produce no winner after five days. It’s why so many love Test cricket. Sometimes you gain from this, sometimes you don’t. This time we haven’t and it’s a big shame.

You get what you get I would agree with, not sure I would agree we “deserve” to draw this test. The time has simply ran out, deservedly or not is subjective.

That’s the great British summer for you though.
This Test, no. The Weather has decided this Test.

But the Ashes been decided by Australia being more consistent and executing when it counts.

Do people really love that 5 days can produce no winner and you can lose only because of the weather? They sound mentally unwell!😂 Who enjoys not seeing the sport they like?

Let's be honest here your over the moon this has been washed out stopping an England victory
Oh aye not like I've been saying for the past two days they needed to bowl quicker because I wanted us to win or owt

It's possible to support a team while also being objective and not a hoop lacking sycophant

Quite, people were literally saying they were praying for Rain at Lords.

If you're losing, it's the hail Mary of Hail Mary's and super satisfying when it comes off.

If you're winning, it's all the more frustrating precisley for that reason, pretty much literal divine intervention.

Have to take the rough with the smooth. Been a great series. And as I said at the start of it all, not beating the best team in the world isn't an indicator of England being shite. On this viewing England will go on to win a lot of games, and if anything I think they've evolved a bit and have more dimensions to them

Well if you’ve paid your money on travel to go and watch it’s a pain in the arse. But it’s part of what makes cricket unique. And weather impacts the game beyond just it being on / off. It’s frustrating when you’re on the wrong end, but great if you benefit.

It’s no Trent bridge like.
I'm currently in Nottingham, been 20c + most of today

Personally don't have a problem with that declaration. Even with all the missed chances we had in that test we needed just 2 wickets and they needed over 50 runs, next test we needed a similar amount of runs but had 4 wickets for them to get, they got the wickets and the runs they needed.
