The front on ones there's that camera effect they talk about. Foreshortening of the lense or something.

The rule needs to be simplified tho, any part of the ball touches the ground and it isn’t a catch.

Well they got rid of the soft signal in internationals not that long ago.

Which effectively gave fielder/batsman benefit of the doubt when it came to these decisions.

The bottom line with Root catch is it was soo close and even watching from every angle slowed down perfectly you just still can’t tell for me.

So have to accept umpires decision either way.

Sorry I don't understand. How can the fielder and the batsman both have benefit of the doubt. It always used to be towards the batsman

It certainly will not have helped, but not sure how the umpire can get criticised for not giving it out, when we seeing the same as him and we don’t know.

Yeah that’s the scheduled finish. But in the championship you can get a half hour on top to get a result on any but the last day. Seven down and rocking is the usual benchmark.
