4th test Manchester

A north wind is going to move that monstrous band across Manchester this aft. Be amazed if they get any further play

The wind is blowing South in Northumberland.

Where the fucks the saharan wind from the south when we need it.

This all reminds me of a day I was at Old Trafford for a Test against West Indies. It poured down all morning then cleared up. They cleared the pitch then did a couple of inspections, took lunch and announced play for an hour later. Hour is almost up and it starts raining again - play eventually abandoned for the day.

There was a good hour and a half they probably could have played for and at least that would have made the trip worthwhile. They think more about fitting lunch and tea in than the paying punters who just want to see some cricket.

Its one of many reasons test cricket around the world is dying on its arse.

Is it any wonder cricket struggles to appeal to a wider audience. Rain delay all morning but then a further delay for lunch
Happened for years in this country and nothing is ever done about it. First time in many years at the recent Durham home game had the umpires used common sense with a rain break and it worked very well. This lot here as I've highlighted had absolutely no desire to clean up when it had stopped raining. It's the same as the over rates in test match cricket, absolutely embarrassing and does the game no favours at all. International cricket grounds conducting themselves like a village ground.

No 1 in the world, beat a superb India as well

Although if you warch the documentary about the side, The Edge, a lot of the players not sure what they sacrificed for it in terms of mental health was worth it
Trott, Harmison and Trescothick all basically finished due to mental health.

Not ensuring 90 overs were played on days 1 and 2 is proving even more ridiculous now
