I posted popes stats to date and yes he averages 40.1, but this is the beginning of his career, before he is found out. Imo you need to make hay earlier and the average should be up near 50 to justify calls of him possibly being top england scorer ever.

now it’s obvious he has talent, however I would advise caution to label him as an all time great at this stage.

Same talk on cricketweb forum where you have a mixture of nationalities saying Foakes in. Throw in Dobell and some other journos.

But fair play to Buttler he's doing a decent job with that bat. Hope he tons up.
