2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifiers - Zimbabwe

Paddy O'Dors

Striker
Probably be lost in the ashes hype but warm up games start today in Zimbabwe, tournament itself on Sunday for last two remaining places at the finals in October.

Hard to see past Sri Lanka getting one of the spots, Windies might be the surprise to miss out depending if they can be arsed or not. The format doesn't have any knockout stage with a super six to round it off so that may to to the Windies advantage.

ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifier Team list:

  • Sri Lanka
  • West Indies
  • Ireland
  • Netherland
  • Zimbabwe
  • Nepal
  • Oman
  • Scotland
  • United Arab Emirates
  • United States
First game is on Sky Sports cricket on Sunday but not sure after that (do they do matches on the red button?)

Ireland lost their first game against Oman yesterday. Scotland haven't yet played, first game against Ireland tomorrow.
Bas de Leede scored 4 today

Sky Sports Mix 416 the games are on

Andy Flower doing commentary

de Leede just had a shocker. 7 ball over for 17 runs. Zim right back in it now.
Ireland v Scotland on Sky Mix 416 atm. Ireland 2-2 of 1.1. Two players both out first ball, Stirling one of 'em Balbirnie the other. Terrible start.

Not the best quality but a great finish. All three results possible on the last ball.

Ireland started and finished the game dreadfully. Well played Leask, good innings. Can't see either heading to India, Ireland as good as out now I reckon.

I see Carty was playing for WI
As a sub fielder taking one of those boundary catches whicy seem to be commonplace nowadays where they throw it up and jump back inside the rope to complete the catch
