I was under the impression that the Caribbean was like India where everyone you meet will be a huge cricket fan. Genuinely more locals interested in the premier league than the West Indies side. That could well fall away

I think they’ll always produce players as they know the IPL will make them millionaire

They've been hit by FIFA's efforts to globalise football, which is ironic, as there's no money in the Caribbean to go with the interest just kids who have got into the game at the expense of cricket.
 
Looks like West Indies won’t qualify now. Currently getting battered from Scotland.

What’s happened to them? Used to be a great test nation then focused mainly on the white ball. Now they are poor at that.
