Just found out my mate was good mates with one of them, he's devastated .

It's awful, does anyone know why so many on that plane? Was there some kind of AIDS conference in Asia?
Australia. Not for this thread, but I think universities and research bodies need to think about these risks so the collective wisdom within any specialism isn't decimated like this.

Even though you can guarantee they were wearing their gravy laden skunk tops during the flight, Its a horrendous thing to happen could of just as easily been some of our lads on that flight. RIP lads condolences to your families .

Disrespectful twat.

14,000 people attending Aids 2014 in Melbourne apparently - I expect with that number of people, most flights towards that way will have dozens of people heading there.

Been away for a few days without internet or phone etc. I came back today to this news and it's devastating. 298 dead but how many victims in total, each one of those passengers had extended family whose lives will never be the same again. Poor bairns who had their whole lives ahead of them man, it's mind numbing. It's even more mind numbing to think of people tramping through the wreckage taking photographs and lifting the personal belongings of the people whose bodies are still strewn around them.

Special mention to the 2 mags, it always seems to hit harder when it's close to home which this is, both regionally and in footballing terms. It's heartbreaking when you think how they must have been looking forward with excitement to a bit holiday in a beautiful place with the added bonus of watching the team they obviously loved. This goes beyond football rivalry and my thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the 2 mags and the families of all those tragically lost.

Football has lost a couple of real supporters this week. RIP lads.

Aye, makes sense. Hopefully it doesn't knock back research into that terrible disease.

There's at least one SAFC fan who'll still have no idea this has happened.

Absolutely horrendus.

Awful to think two blokes from the Region have been caught up in it all. Which football club they support mean absolutely nothing when put into perspective against two lives.

RIP lads.
Awful that everyone on the flight was caught up in it all no matter where they were from or where they were going 300 gone just like that
