13th in league?

Our form is worrying despite the mitigating circumstances. I think we’ll know by the World Cup break whether yesterday was just us meeting the best team in the league or far more worrying that playing for weeks without a forward has damaged the squad’s confidence to such a degree that they’ve lost all faith in being able to win without one.

My biggest fear is that Stewart and Simms regain fitness during December and we come out after the World Cup with a fully fit squad prompting Speakman to think we don’t need another forward in January.

Come early February Stewart gets crocked and here we go again ….
 

Mowbray is a failure like parkinson and grayson should never have been given this position. No thought to AN replacement and just another cheap failure lucky to have the chance of managing this club. The momentum is lost and heading toward a relegation fight with him here. He will be gone before the seasons over.

Agree, and if we do go down itll be something along the lines of “well i dont know what people expect we had a very young sqaud and no strikers for x amount of games” thats what it will be. I didnt want a team full of kids and only 2 strikers, some experienced heads would of helped us aswell as a third forward.

Alex Neil said he wanted a squad to compete this season after the playoff final. He never got it, dont care how many people dress it up. Cant fault him for leaving tbh and to replace him with Mobray was hardly ambitious.

He’s just full of excuses. Not good enough for me. We’re in the same division as them on merit. They don’t have the same squads they had in the PL and we don’t have the same squad we had in league one.

Having Stewart injured is an excuse too. You need to learn to adapt and deal with it. I can accept the Boro game with it being so close to KO but after that you need to have a plan B, C, D and even Z.

There’s ways to mitigate it and play to your strengths. We didn’t lose yesterday because we didn’t have Stewart. We scored twice at home and that should be enough for at least one point. Conceding 4 at home is never acceptable.

You have to deal with any situation as a manager. Do you think Pep would have got us a result without a striker? Do you think Pep would have us top of the league without a striker. The manager doesn’t have all the tools to do his job. If we were getting these results with strikers and the majority fit I would agree. The players are trying their best I have no doubt but they just aren’t good enough or just inexperienced. That’s all down to Speakman.

Whilst I agree with you that they had too much second half, let’s not kid ourselves that the team that hammered us yesterday were playing in the Premier League last season. The club was that team wasn’t

We are comparing it to the worst sides in nearly 150 years history . Yesterday we pressed with superb intensity for 30 mins . For the rest of it we couldn’t get or keep the ball . We have no idea how to defend when it goes into our box . We will be better with Stewart but if this continues we will be in and around the relegation picture when he gets back
