do or die games are not that prevailent in the modern era due to the lack od quality sides. In the little opportunity there has been, Broad delivers. I learn more about players when there backsides are against the wall and the pressure is cranked up a notch than knocking over sides in helpful conditions where your expected to win

So you dont have any examples - its just something you repeat time and time again as if its fact when in fact Broad deserves credit for one very good performance in isolation.

I will look for some examples and revert back in due course. Im multi-tasking at the minute

I wouldn't worry, it shouldn't take long.

I remember him reducing South Africa to about 40/5 last winter with 3 quick wickets, other than that and the Oval, there's nothing.

he has only been playing two years. 75% of the cricket is played against clubies/fraudsters etc

What are you expecting

until the clubbies/fraudsters hit town, this was Jimmy career average which you amongst other others were wanking over 12 months ago.

Il find the posts.

As I have said many times before Jimmys career average was about 45 after two years in the test side. Why dont you judge Broad when he has had a 10 year test career, 500 test wickets and a bowling average of less than 30

Willing to stake a wager on this as I did with Cook with SC

The most disappoiting thing with you is that when under pressure on here you lie and expect people to buy it and it never works. The worst average Jimmy has had in his test career was 38 when he came back from Australia first time. Before going over there it was 33 and now 31.

Some evidence to back up an outlandish claim that Stuart Broad is a proven performer that comes up with the goods under pressure I suppose

I would be happy for him to come up with the goods on green tops against clubbies and fraudsters tbh - it would be a start ;)

like KP mate? Vaughan was another big game player.

Tresco was more of a flat track bully who got his technique exposed repeatedly against the Aussies

In Jimmys test career he has never had a bowling average of 35? are you being serious

Can you read? I said the worst it became was 38 after Australia in 2006 in contradiction to one of your lies about it being 45.

WTF's KP, Vaughan and Trescothick got to do with whether or not Stuart Broad is a proven big game player?

I meant 35 in orginal post not 45, trying to do something else at same time

ahh - fair enough.

drawing comparisons with those who turned up in the big games and those who didnt

I thought you were going to provide evidence to back up your view on Broad but i'll carry this one on anyway.

Vaughan - on what basis is that? He batted sensationally in a losing cause in Australia but that more about his ability as a batsman on hard bouncy pitches than someone who can be relied on in do or die matches. He had some brilliant innings and was great to watch but i'm not sure hes a good example. Did he see out the fixed match in SA? That might be one.

judeg yourself against the best.

When playing club cricket, I always get more satisfaction at scoring a 100 against the best attack in the league than the 4th best

I'm sure Trescothick has great satisfaction from being leading run scorer in a winning Ashes team and averaging about 70 against a very good South African side.

Yes and in that series he did

I agree Vaughan was a better player but Trescothick did do it against quality attacks.

I dont agree with either of you ;) Its about performing against all types of bowling - Vaughan was an exceptional player on hard bouncy surfaces against the very best but you also play cricket against gentle swing, spin in Sri Lanka etc and of course pressure situations. Trescothick IMO was a better test player than Vaughan although I loved to watch Vaughan play.

sums you up, trying to belittle someone such as Vaughan.

That Aussie attack in 2003 was along with the Windies the best to ever grace the game. If you wish to belittle Vaughans achievements so be it. Lack of respect and naivety
