James Anderson Watch in Australia

Anderson is now the leading wicket taker in the series, not bad at all considering he has been carrying an injury. Makes you proud to be English that lad :-D

Indeed. Showed he has skill and grit. Ripping through them whilst only being 14.67% fit. sensational, simply sensational 8-)

he is, which is why its staggering that amongst all these Jimmy worshipers, not one picked him as leading wicket taker.

Me neither but he is clearly developing as a world class performer in this series. Not long before he is World number one now ;-)

just a shame people didnt show more faith before the series started.

always easy to be wise after the event and jump on the Jimmy bandwagon

more bollox.

im an Anderson fan but wasnt convinced he'd do too well in Aus. (thought he'd do okay though).

difference is, now that he has done very well, the majority say well done whereas you just churn out the excuses.

Broad is better than Jimmy.

my issue with Jimmy has and has always been performing consistently against the worlds best in unhelpful conditions

interesting in SA against the side ranked two in the world we were outplayed for 3 tests out of 4 - a better reflection of where our bowlers stand in the world game

Harmison, Gough, Fred etc must be gutted at not being able to bowl in this current series

Harmison and Flintoff have bowled at Perth twice before. In 2003 it was quicker and bouncier than it was this time around and at Brisbane it was lightening quick in 2006. Brisbane was much more placid this year than anytime Gough, Harmison and Fred have ever bowled there and for the rest of this match you will find the MCG as flat as it ever has been in the past.

Perth and MCG were wickets prepared to force a result and assist seam bowlers, surely thats not in dispute???

we were outplayed but stuck in and eeked out a 1-1 draw

to be the best, you have to beat the best in their own backyard

absolute miles behind Steyn. If Jimmy were ever one in the world, id stop watching, product would be crap

5th at the moment and with Sri Lanka and India ( who currently look like they are sending their batsmen out with a bat ) on the horizon in the summer, it should see him get very close.

I specifically asked you what the MCG would be like b4 the game started, you said you couldnt be sure, now you are sure, brilliant

As I said, you cant comment on Broad, because he could have been quite easily carrying the injury b4 it came out

Jimmy was carrying an injury coming into Brisbane and coming into this match as well as completing a 20,000 mile round trip just before Perth. You wont find him making excuses ;-)

You are forgetting that test wickets in England dont count (for Jimmy anyway).

that helped him, becoming a father gave him an extra boost. So any wickets that fell once the after birth was en route doesnt count.

Between me and you and I hadnt seen the MCG track before yesterday and couldn't comment but bizarrely, and heres the twist, ive seen it now and feel qualified to comment. Ive just watched a days cricket where the pitch was lively for half a day and getting flatter as the day went on and after the heavy roller took the moisture out it looked flat as owt and if the weather stays fine you would expect it to get flatter and flatter.
