I havent been wrong. When was the last time England played in Australia and opted to bowl twice, both times being the correct decision.

The reason you bowl in Australia or in any country is that you think your gonna bowl the oppo out cheap in helpful conditions. You wouldnt bowl first on a flat deck in blue skies when you were gonna get panned for 500.

Thus far Jimmy has bowled well in helpful conditions (and once in Adelaiade in unhelpful conditions). As I have said, when he does it consistently on unhelpful pitches and doesnt go missing when you really need him, Il hold my hands up and admit I was wrong.

Swann is doing fine - as you yourself have mentioned the wickets have had nothing in them for Swann but in the one opportunity he has had with a bit of assistance he won a test match for England. Was 3rd top wicket taker coming into this match and has his best opportuities to come. Wheres the problem?

He will bowl a helluva lot of overs in the second innings now the pitch is flat and will then bowl at a really good venue for him at Sydney. Despite pitches not suiting Swann he will either end up top wicket taker or be pretty damn close because he is a class act - theres no contradiction.

Even if Broad and Finn had played every game Swann would have been up there in the leading wicket takers. Probably not right up there at the top but with the amount of bowling he was predicted to do it's only natural to suggest he'll take wickets.

anyway, if anderson did as broad does, which is keep it tight, but not taking many wickets youd be churning out your usual 'wickets win matches'. (in fact you did that not so long ago when jimmy bowled possibly the best spell of this ashes series, without getting a wicket).

As I said, you cant comment on Broad, because he could have been quite easily carrying the injury b4 it came out
