Coventry, Ipswich and Hull

Not sure any of em are strong enough without massive changes. A lot may well depend on loans and loans with an option to buy so they aren't screwed financially if they plummet.
You'd think fat Frank would have decent options in the domestic market to get a couple of decent loans in and may have the appeal to attract players as well to try and save a few quid for buys. Delap ain't really worked at Chelsea, and doubt he's gonna be playing next season so maybe worth a cheeky loan deal and see if Frank can get a tune out of the big lump

Hull is gonna be an interesting one if they bring a few lesser known Turkish based players in as that team yesterday is nowhere near the level it has to be at

Ipswich, nee idea.

Could well be the Loch ness Drogba maybe worth a punt for teams near the bottom, he's played more but could he stay fit for a whole prem season, be good to see if he could step up like

Think cov will stay up. Got a good team, score goals, play good football and their transfer business is usually sound. They'll make the ricoh a tough place to go.

Ipswich and hull will need to be smart in transfer window.
Playing good football, the type that enables them to score plenty in Championship, will see them bottom of the league in Premier.
Ipswich tried, as did Southampton. Can’t play the same way, with mainly the same resources, at that level. Need to either spend big and bring in a lot of new faces, change the style to be tough to score against and look to sneak goals, or both.

The gap is so big. Bigger than I thought this time last year. All 3 teams have a lot of work to do. If they spend the absolute maximum they can and are almost flawless in their recruitment then they will have a chance.

Do you think? I'd argue the standard in the prem this year has been the worst it has been for a while. Even the team that has won the league has done so by relying on set pieces.

I think there has definately been a drop in quality. For instance a lot of that west ham team would not look out of place in the championship and they are still in with a shout of staying up.

And about pragmatism. You simply can't play the way you did in the Championship
This.

Their manager was an idiot last time. He thought he could out football teams with far better players

I don't think he's changed. Ipswich's best chance is making a poor start and sacking the manager early.

Hull are awful. I can't see them getting 20 points.

Coventry may have a chance but their chairman has came out and said they won't spend like us. Very worrying signs IMO.

I think you are being a little unkind on Arsenal. There's a reason set pieces have became so important. It's because teams are so fit and organised and hard to play through in open play. Arsenal are an outstanding team with no weaknesses.
IMO the gap is huge in all aspects of the game.

We’ve got a good foundation, a good window hopefully see us establish mid table. The three promoted teams will be looking at us and Leeds, so we’ll have a target on us. Hope KLD can get his charm on again

It’s pension and investment funds, isn’t it? Can’t imagine they’re keen on massive amounts of risk for their investment - particularly after having been bitten once already. Certainly they’ll be wanting a return at some point. With all of these owners (KLD included) there’ll be a maximum investment that they’ll be willing to make over the lifetime of their ownership. It’ll be capped by the value of the club at the very maximum. We’re lucky that all of KLDs spend has been done at PL level. With Ipswich they’ve already spent big in a failed PL campaign as well as during last season’s promotion. That’s all money that they’ll won’t spend going forward. Back to SAFC, it’s why we need to remain very careful with our money. Can’t afford many Adingras.
Yes mate but also some other investors put in a big wedge a couple of years ago

only bought English speaking players too

Another one here @Keith S30S

Coventry fan on their forum reckons Sunderland, Bournemouth, Forest, Palace, Leeds, Newcastle, Hull, Ipswich will all struggle. It'll be a piece of piss for them.
Coventry will finish bottom for me. Doug King already came out and dampened expectations. As a club they will think not a lot of work needs to be done. Hull have to at least try and copy what we did, we all know they aren’t good enough, scraped into top 6, will be interesting. The owner is very well known in Turkey, wonder if they could use that to their advantage.

We definitely got prompted at the right time. Could we have signed Diarra, Talbi, Xhaka and Sadiki as seamlessly as we did with a World Cup going on? Probably not. The 3 promoted clubs are up against it already in that respect.

Lampard has been saying recently the lads who have got them there deserve a chance to show what they can do.

Happy f***ing days for us.

Yeah they don’t stand a chance if that’s not a bluff going into the window. You may get a trend in which the play off winners do better as the club realise they need to revolutionise the entire squad let alone strongest 11. Leeds had a premier league squad in the championship, Burnley conceded just 15 goals in 46 games and yet conceded 3+ goals every other week. CH standard was worse this year for me.

The Coventry owner has already said they won't 'do a Sunderland'. The reality is we got up having spent next to nowt over the previous 6 years and then we sold Bellingham for £35m the day after coming on top of the £11m for Watson. That gave us the sort of headroom Ipswich and Coventry simply do not have. Hull are the interesting one as they had transfer embargo's and might have some leeway to spend big.

As it stands they would all go down, but as it stood this time last year, so would us and Leeds. Its about recruitment and we should know that better than anyone. Gone are the days of a team coming up like like Forest and Leeds, making a couple of signings and then winning the top flight the first season.

As long as we stay up, I would be more than happy for all three promoted teams to stay up as well as that would flush out the PL and make it more competetive. Too many teams have got too comfortable. Be nice to see a Spurs, Fulham or the Saudis go down or all three!! I could put Everton in there as well but I have a lot of time for Everton.
