I was told by a Leeds fan that we were in a false position in the league, this was just before we played and beat them at their place.
I basically told him to pee off as the points don't lie.
He ain't contacted me since 🤣🤣🤣

Yes but the club use it to analyse the kind of positions players get into and the like.

They don’t use it to create a new league table by replaying all the games using the XG as the result and ignoring all other metrics about the individual games/teams/players.

I’m not saying they do though.

People on here dismiss the data science and instead say things like “xG is bollocks like ya knar it’s all about tha points and that like aye”

Without realising that it’s data science, that relies on things like xG (including its drivers and derivatives) that have helped us sign great players for cheap.

Roefs for example, I bet you that one of the ways he was identified was though his expected goals conceded, i.e. if the xG of the shots he faced was say 30.8 but his actual goals conceded was 22.4, you’d want to understand why that was.
22.0, you can’t have 0.4 of a goal :lol:
