Diarra

The club have barely put a foot wrong these last couple of years so you would imagine they've broken our transfer record and paid £30m, it's for a reason.

I reckon we'll break this transfer record again in the summer which will hopefully take some the price tag talk away from him a little.

Yes and then moved into the middle again and supplied a second short ball to Le Fee to score
Dont get me wrong I am delighted for both but Rigg did all the hard work for that second goal and was prominent for the 3rd, however Diarra deserves kudos for final assist

Doesnt happen without Rigg
As I said above, I am not denigrating etc Diarra
I was/am delighted to see him back in the fold, but for me the main man ( other than scorer ) in second goal was rigg
Just watched YouTube highlights several times and while Diarra was part of the second goal, it was initiated by Rigg ( after a surging run up right side) released Diarra. Diarra crossed and ball reached Isidor who passed ball back to Rigg who slid final pass to ElF
The assist and what happened just prior were almost entirely attributable to Rigg
Diarra gets the glory for 3rd goal, again combining (just prior to his cross) with Rigg
Maybe it is these 2 that could be integral in à ‘creativity reset’ going forward
I mean, I agree - Rigg did great coming on too (all three subs at that point did), they were all very proactive subs from RLB and it's nice to see us going for it when the game is in the balance and having some real attacking options to bring on

Jesus Christ how much do you hate him? It was a fantastic ball into the channel expecting one of the lads in the box to gamble on it. Very tough to defend against that kind of ball. He had a great appearance, as much as his haters like yourself don't like that. Was a key part of the 2 late goals and could have had us another couple too
Spot on. Some dunno what they are watching. It's a horrible ball to defend against and just asking to be put in. You'd think the defender made a howler from a nothing ball. It's split them, and the defender is facing his own goal as it comes across him, making it very difficult to deal with.

It was a very good near post ball. Once past that area they should deal with it but it wasn’t a nothing ball at all.

Yup, first half we played no balls into the box while playing lovely little passes to each other out wide. He came in and drove forward quickly and hit 'nothing' crosses into dangerous areas. I know which I'd prefer to see more of.
Said to our kid his movement going forward is very very good, he just has brain farts when he gets there or can't shoot for shit. Hopefully we start seeing better decisions and more composure as he gets used to the league

I dunno if it was at FT or after the 3rd goal but he seemed to make a gesture to someone in the crowd as if someone had a go at him. I hope that wasn't the case as, like others have said, he contributed well yesterday.

Unfortunately Diarra has been branded as the latest boo boy and there’s no recovery in the eyes of some on here. Diarra was one of our best players yesterday and influenced the game as much as anyone - contributing key parts to 2 of our goals and defending very well down that side too - a side which had looked very exposed since the Talbi for Hume substitute around 15 minutes beforehand

I think some forget as well it's his first season in the premier league and he missed half the season with injury. Next season i think he'll be one of the first names on the teamsheet if he can find the consistency

There's an agenda against him from some so any good will be downplayed and any bad will be exaggerated, I think some forget they're supposed to be 'supporters'.
Sone of our fans are obsessed with price tags, abd use it against players. They also hate players who might look a bit more casual in style.

The grief he got for the villa chance was mental. I'd read it on here before seeing it and you'd think he missed an open goal. It was a cracking bit of keeping from an effort many have attempted in that situation.

I really hope he’s staying and the rumours of Saudi aren’t true. think he’ll push on next season and there’ll be massive interest in him next summer.

It’s all there for him and he’s got the quality imo, just need to get some consistency

Just wish he’d scored vs Villa
