Diarra

Young lad behind me giving him all sorts of grief after one of our breaks where it didn't quite work out and he had to come back on himself (after it looking like it was a 2 on 2 with Isidor with him). We were 2-1 up away from home and still whinging.

And rather than just enjoy themselves, same lad said "we can still concede 2 here" when we were 3-1 up. Just sing mind the gap and enjoy yourself young'un.

Dropping him might of gave him the kick up the arse he needed. Was playing like he could do what he wanted becuase he cost 30m half the time.

There's a player there and hopefully we see that next season. Some players take a year to just get upto moving country / get up to pace with the league etc.
Or, he was playing like he was finding his way back from a big injury. And he has had more time to train and rehab since.

He always seemed to put a shift in when he’s been played, even if he sometimes didn’t perform well.

been wasteful at times this season.

new club, injuries, afcon has all played a part.

I think we will see the player he can be next year.

I think part of the issue with some supporters is the hard work he puts in isnt noticed as much as the couple of big mistakes, but he is still a young lad and I think he will get better and better.

Hume is a fish out of water in that role so an unfair comparison I think.

Le Fee is class end of. Like a skillful flea, rides tackles well but when he gets shoulder to shoulder he simply doesn’t have the bulk,

Sadiki is class…..end of

Rigg seems to link up well with Diarra

Diarra has a bit of all of them but makes some rash choices - that’ll get ironed out by some sincere Xhaka coaching.

For me the odd one out is and will be Hume in that role. Needs to stop!

when he came on it looked like we were playing 4-4-2 at times. he plays very high up the pitch it was like:

----------xhaka----------
rigg--diarra--le fee--talbi
----------wilson-----------

Not at all I juts think he can do a better job than a fullback on the wing when y admitting I was right ?
You've never been marrabas thats never been the debate .

No matter where he plays you have a pop. Going on about passing stats* against other midfielders (whikst then saying he's not one) and pulling him up on stats about the ball going past him, comparing him to full backs when he was playing in midfield  You're known for it.

*you were using his passing stats as reasons why we lost, or if we won it was despite him

Interesting to see what he’s like after a proper pre season, it was very stop/start for him, as many have said he has lots we can work on. Hopefully we see how good he really is next season.
💪

I agree that it seems the role Hume is playing is tailor made for Diarra but RLB obviously has a game plan and prefers the defensive stability the Hume offers for the majority of the match. With Diarra coming on later to create chaos.

Hume has earned his place as well Diarra has a bit more to proves you can understand the selection choices. And it's worked a treat.

Very excited to see Diarra next season as it just hasn't got going for him this season.

Because he’s not good enough for where we are to be starting games esp ahead of some of the other lads ! Yes and everything i said has been proven correct

Apart from all of it.

I mean this is from the fella slating Diarra for the save at Villa. Suggesting he shouldve shot much earlier/well outside the box and with his weaker foot, when through on goal :)

Do you genuinely think Hume should be playing midfield

I think with the players we currently have available, and looking to get the best out of the team/get points he should be in the 11 at present. Dropping in/allowing a back 5 etc providing extra solidity and releasing Mukiele etc. Thats all I have ever argued. And it's right. Le Bris knars he should be with what we currently have too.

The other fella slates him no matter where he plays or how he plays. Always has.
