I was thinking similar about 2022/2023 and made the below thread just after promotion, so glad to see we are aligned in our thinking on that. A lot of players signed that summer are actually still key players for them today and you could see the same happening with us a few seasons down the line if we manage to survive this year.
Agree completely re: Kompany (Burnley) and Martin (Southampton) too on style of play versus us.
It'll be very tough as it's essentially
3 from 5 to go down IMO, the 3 promoted sides plus Brentford and Wolves, Everton and West Ham will have that bit too much quality and experience to get properly dragged into it for me, but we have certainly given ourselves a fighting chance.
I'm hoping the amount of teams playing in Europe may help a bit too if catching some of the stronger teams on the back of European game weeks.
