Why Sunderland can survive in the Premier League

Here's my two-penneth worth on this whole cause before the season kicks off. Why the top 17 might be complacent? Why the last two seasons are not a pointer to our future and an explanation of the transfer policy Sunderland are still pursuing to try and buck the trend.

Enjoy and see you all tomorrow.

Is the training footage from the club website or something ?

8 points from 5 (5 x "easier" fixtures) or 11 from the first 10 both great targets and both tick the 'no team doing so ever been relegated ' box.

Haway the even goal difference.

Top quality analysis as ever. Cheers

Hopefully the quality lads we've brought into the club during the summer on the coaching and analysis side give us an advantage too.
Great video. Happy to be written off by everyone and I can see us definitely stay up comfortably.

Hopefully we do well but stay off the radar as long as possible, even if we are picking points up, just written off as beginners luck/early season flukes or whatever. I said in another thread yesterday I think some of the cubs in the PL might be a bit complacent around relegation after the last two seasons.

Yes, it's club training footage, just for background rather than look at my mug talking.

Brilliant as ever. You’ve nailed it. I’ve really been thinking about our recruitment and it just all fits. We’ve bought the players who are very capable of being patient, but once got the ball can get to the final third extremely rapidly. Interesting we have brought in central defenders and heroes who all have immense arial ability as well.

Haven't watched much PL football at all for years. But saw Brighton, Brentford and maybe it was Bournemouth, possibly Palace last season and was shocked at the speed of transition box to box.

While it’s the hope that kills you, I can’t argue other than we’ve played our hand nearly perfectly in the close season and I believe it’s more than possible we will be more than OK as a result. Bring it on!
Forgot to say well done 10 Trenches

Good lad, Trenchy. Impeccable logic and cool STATS too! đŸ€©

Thanks for that. It sort of puts a solid framework around the optimism I feel, although it may take time for the new team to gel into the kind of winning cohesive unit it promises - the sum of its excellent parts.

Onward and upward...

My two important watches tonight
Liverpool v Bournemouth to see what its all about, then this from 10 TD. If only the possee of “all 3 promoted teams will go down” could do a bit of research like this, we may be more inclined to listen to them. Excellent stuff as always @10 Trenches Deep.

Ha’way the trench.

Great video. Awesome recruiting by Sunderland. We have a good chance to buck that 3 up 3 down trend.
It’s not the dog in the fight, it’s fight in the dog! I think we could surprise a few pundits, most of which have penciled into that bottom 3 place.

What was it Cloughie once said? Look around the team bus, if you haven't got 4 or 5 big hearts you may as well turn the bus around. This will be massive in terms of us sticking there and I reckon we have those hearts in place.

Till the end!

Good stuff mate.

Even the pace and sharpness on show in training is massively impressive. This will enable our players to train at the very high levels which they will come up against in the Premier League on a regular basis.

It can only be a good thing.

Half the league is in transition and / or shite. Best chance in staying up in years, we can do this FTM.

Look around the team bus to see how many hearts are there? If there are fewer than 5 it's not worth setting off.
