Southampton spying compendium thread

It's funny that they will go to the lengths of sending a lad hundreds of miles up to Middlesbrough with an old iPhone! 🤣
I guess if you're busted you can try to pretend you're a weirdo (is this what he did?)

Much harder to pretend you're innocent if you've brought a drone or hi-def camera

I don't understand how Hull being auto promoted after the play-off final (if they lose) is the right option?

- Southampton have definitely cheated against Boro, who went out the play-offs to them
- They're accuesed of cheating agaisnt Wrexham, who missed out on the playoffs by a point to Hull

To then punish Southampton by promoting Hull would mean that Hull have got a benefit from Southampton cheating other clubs. Like, I feel like that wouldn't stand up.

Think of F1. A driver causes another to crash, or disobeys a rule, and goes on to win the race. They get a 5/10/20 second penalty, and it promotes the driver who came 2nd to victory.

The person who they actually wronged doesn’t benefit. It’s about punishing the perpetrator, not compensating someone.

If it’s proven that it’s been going on throughout the season, every team who lost out to Southampton (in terms of individual matches or through play-off qualification) & can prove Southampton cheated against themwill have a case against them and could seek compensation through the courts.

I can see why you would think that, although I don't necessarily agree.
I suppose though, if these clubs have come to Boro with this 'information', then Boro have no choice but to pass it on really.
If these other clubs have compelling evidence, then I'd presume they'd take it to the EFL themselves anyway.
Fair points.

The apparent situation that one of Southampton's analysts was at Boro's final training session last week, in possession of highly sophisticated recording equipment and fully decked out in Boro's training gear, should be enough to kick them out of the play off final as presumably Boro have the relevant supporting evidence. Who takes their place is getting tricky though especially if Wrexham have been fucked over, which looks possible.

Easy enough, get a list of Southampton staff, check it off against Boro online sales with a south coast address, bingo, 1 x training top and trews

Is the spot the lad from Southampton on a public space that anyone could go to and observe the training? It seems that way. If the club were really concerned about secrets being revealed they surely would have arranged to have it blocked off.

And it looks like hes filming on his phone. Hardly a complex surveillance operation!
He was a spy using shit equipment I reckon, m'lud.

I see ... no case to answer, dismissed.

The issue is Southampton spied on the training session, illegally undermining the Brough preparations.

I don’t think for a minute that Hull would complain about having to play Brough in the final. I think Southampton have given up any right to prosper further in the play-offs.

Hill v Brough is near enough a derby game.

I deme it being wasted on some tho

Don’t see how Bereh being passed into the final is either

Wrexham will be going all out if there’s any evidence at all it’s happened to them and be wanting massive compensation as well
