Nissan

Because it would be voluntary so would have to be a fair amount to get people out the door. Especially long timers. Nobody is going to take £20k
Doesn't necessarily have to be voluntary if Nissan are really struggling they could do compulsory

Why would nissan give any more than the bare minimum required?
For their reputation and the staff would deserve it. Also the government would squeeze them for as much as they could to soften the economic blow. Honda got 6 weeks pay per year uncapped.

Genuine question. We're Honda on the bones of their arse as much as Nissan are?

Facts
Nissan always work with output 2/3 years ahead. They're narrowing output to 3 car plant for long-term work . Nissan will be still going in 10 / 20 years time minimum. Fact . And if Dongfeng correct it's closing in next 6 months all lads and lasses walk away quids in anyway
But won't happen
Let's please for the whole of the North east stay positive
As Nissan will kick on again
Always happens
Av a good night all Nissan workers and suppliers and families
Onwards and upwards for yous and families!!

No they just didn't want to make cars in the UK/Europe any more. Car production is a small part of Honda's total businesses.
What I was getting at was were Honda in a much better financial position which enabled them to offer more favourable redundancy terms.

Down to 1 line - Confirmed.

Chery incoming - Rumoured.

900 job losses of indirect staff across Europe - Confirmed

Load of shite really.

Been forced to tell us since the MCC announcement. Wouldn’t have said a thing otherwise.
