Ballard

Well I certainly don't think he's gone "watch this Omar, the cameras winnit see this".

It's just the regular tussles you see between big strikers and CBs when the ball is in the air, it just so happens this fella has got long hair that's ended up in his hand. He certainly isn't reaching for it if his braids are above shoulder height.

It's crackers, we've survived 160 years of football without this rule, now we've got knackers in vans zooming in and counting the amount of strands that have ended up between someone's fingers.

If we're giving a red for this, it should be a red any time the player tries to grab around the shoulder and upper back area.

I've watched it 20 times now, he's pulling his hair, he's managed to get it, it's not a strand of his hair and most his shirt or a bit of his shirt- it's his hair.

You can pick issues with the rule, you can debate long hair and you can question the amount of pulling that's allowed at the moment. But if you've clearly got hold that much of a blokes hair and you're pulling him around by it, then there's a good chance you're going to get sent off.

These long-haired wannabes should be required to tie it up in a bun or ware one of those rubber condom head things. Bloody ridiculous decision to send Ballard off for nowt.

Sick of our players doing stupid shit
Yeah that's what has got me narked ....going back to Reineldo against Villa, Lefee's penalty, Diarra daft choice, Ballard today & Onien ....ffs if they were sensible we would be atleast 9 points above the Mags

It’s so disappointing to see so many Sunderland fans laying into Ballard. Firstly, this man has enough money in the bank to make 1000 mistakes, but secondly any Sunderland fan worth their salt knows Ballard’s character and atty so there should be no debate that he would never purposefully pull the hair of an opponent. It’s so clear and obvious he was just grappling with his opponent which we love to see week in week out.
Best post on this thread so far . Have a like

Players shouldn't be allowed on the pitch with hair down like that. Second time its happened to this fella. Tie it up or chop it off. Two points down the shitter is annoying .

Most other teams could claim the same though.

I understand it to be a hot topic but there needs to be common sense applied . That incident is not why it was implemented.
Week in week out in every premier league game there’s grappling and shirts being pulled trying to gain an advantage. Ballard got unlucky yesterday. Grabbed a hand full of shirt where the lads hair was. Not an intentional hair pull imo. Either the rule makers clamp down on the constant grappling or players with long hair have to have it tied up above collar height.
