Ballard

This is an accident and we had a goal ruled out last week for exactly the same. But no pen for West Ham

Ballard accidentally grabs someone's hair and it's a red.

Football is a joke with all these bollocks rules that get inconsistently applied game to game.

The officiating in the country has become absolutely shite. It’s so poor they should be sacked.

Pulling of hair when accidental, penalties not given when Blatently should (remember the pen we should have had against Everton)? Foul on the keeper off Nordi when he couldn’t be anywhere else, Anderson clear red card. There are so many incidents which are so clearly wrong.

It needs a massive change
Worst thing about the whole thing is that donkey is nearly 7 foot, built like an out house and went down like he’d been shot.

How do players not laugh at fuckers doing that
He didn’t appeal
When he got up did he?

I really don't understand why would a hair grab should be necessary a red card. More dangerous tackles that could end a football career are only a yellow, but you can't touch the hair. WTF is that?! It's just a random part of the body, not a vital organ.
Think everyone will agree today's incident was not violent conduct no matter what the letter of the law says ,
Which means its wrong and needs sorting out

If he pulled his hair on purpose, it is seriously stupid. He's cost us the game, we were fortunate to get a point in the end. If he was trying to pull his shirt and grabbed his hair, it's extremely harsh, didn't someone get away with this recently?

You think he has the size of a shirt to grab hold of and somehow manages to grab a piece of hair, not realise and keep hold of it till it's a good two inches away from his shirt or collar?

That would take some doing.
Well I certainly don't think he's gone "watch this Omar, the cameras winnit see this".

It's just the regular tussles you see between big strikers and CBs when the ball is in the air, it just so happens this fella has got long hair that's ended up in his hand. He certainly isn't reaching for it if his braids are above shoulder height.

It's crackers, we've survived 160 years of football without this rule, now we've got knackers in vans zooming in and counting the amount of strands that have ended up between someone's fingers.

If we're giving a red for this, it should be a red any time the player tries to grab around the shoulder and upper back area.

It a pure accident, he went to grab the shirt.

Should he have been sent off, yes. As that is the letter of the law. Has deliberately gone for the hair, absolutely not.
He shouldn’t of been sent off at all it’s only violent conduct is you have pulled the hair on purpose
Of
Don’t think SAFC will challenge it
course the will it’s never a red card in a million years he’s not pulled it on purpose

i don’t disagree but there is no discretion in the law and that’s what refs work with and are judged on

Very unlucky for Ballard. Maybe Brobbey should wear dreads for the next match, he gets pulled all over the place. It is doubly unlucky that we lose Ballard for a full three games, whereas other sendings of, such as a couple of bookings, only get one game.

One plus point for us - he should hopefully be fully ready for a good pre-season and season ahead.

It's disgusting to be honest. Two players jostling for the ball...and the ref doesn't even deem it to be a foul. But because some of his hair has ended up in his hand it's not only a foul, but a red card and 3 game ban.

The game is gone if people are being sent off for that.

Deliberately yanking a player's hair back if he is running away from you should be violent conduct. Not challenges like this FFS...it's nuts.

Having finally seen it on video, I don't think its a deliberate hair pull. Hes doing the usual grabbing handfuls of shirt and tussling, but the lads hair is just a part of the melee.

If they are going to insist on this red card rule, they should at least require hair gets properly tied up to minimise situations like today.

Shame for the lads and Dan.
