Yes it can be a wrench handing them over, but it then makes space for another/others to get out of kennels.I’d really struggle with fostering. I’d just have a house full of dogs I’d kept. Fair play to you though, it’s a lovely thing.
Talking of a house full - about a year and a half ago, we had one foster dog with us plus our own five dogs.
The foster dog was due to be adopted on a particular Saturday so we decided to foster 3 dogs from the Sunday, so we would have 8 in the house.
We got a phone call late on the Friday night from the 'adopters' saying they'd changed their minds and then on the Sunday we got a phone call from the people transporting the dogs (for foster), saying a particular dog had somehow been put on the vehicle without being allocated to any fosterer and would we be able to take him.
So, we ended up having TEN dogs in the house for a while.
Safe to say breakfast time was a tad chaotic
