Inconsistency
Every incident is different and viewed from a different angle and these fellas are robots programmed all to think the same. Just like places like this opinions will differ from one to the other

Inconsistency
Can only recall one, possibly two, instances in the Premier League where the ref has gone to the screen and stuck with their original decision. The fact that as soon as they go to that screen,a decision is gonna be overturned. Do they never stick with their decision?
This is a major flaw in VAR like. Once they’ve sent the ref to the screen, it’s in the best interests of the bloke in charge of the replays to make sure the decision’s overturned, otherwise he’d look daft for recommending it.
There needs to be a system. Show the replay say three times at full speed from every angle, then the slow motion. Don’t have it paused on the most incriminating frame possible as the ref is walking over then show ultra slow motion replays from one or two angles of a moment without context.
You love it when it's your team doing it thoughWas just about to write this. The full back foul has been the scourge of football for ages
I get what you mean but they’re on mic and headset to them the entire the game. The ref cam videos we see these days show how much they’re continually in comms with their team. It’s not like in the past where they have to run over and chat to them if they need their opinionBiggest issue for me isn't just with refs.
We have "assistant referees". Very rarely do they actually assist the ref. They should flag fouls they see, and refs should ask their opinion.
Im sick of seeing refs make the wrong decision, while an "assistant referee" had a clear view and either didn't flag or wasnt asked

@Butcher's Coat I meant give a pen if the defence commits an offence and free kick if the attacking team does. When a corner is going to be taken and all the players are jostling with each other they blow their whistle to go and have a chat to tell the players to stop and they are watching.
Don't tell them. Give a penalty and free kick to the the defence depending on what offence is committed, if any.
Clear to whom? But they clearly dont communicate, on mic or not!
You see a clear foul in front of an assistant referee. Referee hesitates, then guesses.
Once the ball is in play.@Butcher's Coat I meant give a pen if the defence commits an offence and free kick if the attacking team does.
Is your point it's fine to interfere/talk to/instruct as the ball isn't in play? I just think refs should let it actually play out and officiate when the ball is in play in this scenario.Once the ball is in play.
It's a dead ball until the corner is taken.
This marra^^I just think refs should let it actually play out and officiate when the ball is in play in this scenario.
Clear to whom?

1. Assistant referees
They indicate when:
The assistant referee’s assistance also includes monitoring the substitution procedure.
- the whole of the ball leaves the field of play and which team is entitled to a corner kick, goal kick or throw-in
- a player in an offside position may be penalised
- a substitution is requested
- at penalty kicks, the goalkeeper moves off the goal line before the ball is kicked and if the ball crosses the line; if additional assistant referees have been appointed the assistant referee takes a position in line with the penalty mark
The assistant referee may enter the field of play to help control the 9.15m (10 yards) distance.
