SAFC - Fan Ban & Ticket Cancellations

You know this sort of shit goes on , but it boils my piss when I’m sat at home watching on the telly with 49 “ loyalty “ points.

Nothing I’ve read about your situation surprises me in the slightest unfortunately, with the customer service bar being set so low and they’re still not reaching it.

I would second that.
If you find yourself going down that route then the support you'll get from many people on here and beyond, financial, moral and emotional, will be significant.

It depends what you're after of course (and as the poster to whom I'm replying suggests, you don't seem the sort to want anything other than common sense to prevail and your ban to be rescinded).

But make no mistake, the very last thing the club and its leadership wants is for this to go to court. It would be highly embarrassing, a PR disaster and set them back considerably in their stated vision, especially when the national press starts to run the story.
Even if their position was upheld they would be shamed publicly. It's a lose-lose for them.

So just to point out you're holding very good cards. And are surrounded by good people who, if you were to take such action, would support you all the way.

The club might not care, we do.

Thirded. I would certainly chip in.

In this shit can happen to one fan and a branch organisation it can happen to anyone or any branch. I know Steve Dean from the Jarra Branch personally and know he's put about 40 years 'work' into running every aspect of the branch for the good of our supporters and our club. All for free.

The club have also shit on the coperate fans who want to downgrade. It's a slippery slope and a disgrace.

It's not about power. At least they are trying and communicating. Before it was a wall of silence and releasing club statements without so much as a comment. That wasn't good enough.

This is more promising and hopefully the club will wise up and stop shitting on loyal fans.
 
At least whilst sat in the pub in Birmingham waiting for family and friends to return from Villa Park, I’ve been able to put the arrangements in place for the journey home.

The rules are the same in the EFL as they are in the PL. Every ticket is to be used by the named person only.

Funny they the club were more than happy to disregard those rules whilst in league 1 and the championship.

I've done loads of purchases of 8 or 9 tickets for my group this season. If one of those lads decides to pass on thier ticket (which has happened loads of times) ,.why should I get punished ?

Or an adult uses the child ticket and the child uses the adult one but they we worried they might get checked. Buying a ticket for an 8 year old in a different tier isn’t a perfectly reasonable thing to do. If you have to have someone going in on the wrong ticket to accommodate it, it’s the wrong thing to do. There 100% should be a way to buy the tickets together if everyone has the right points but you can never guarantee the phases going that far for any away game. Club have been at fault for a lot but they can’t be responsible for stupid decisions.

We'll have to agree to differ.

I'm not blaming the club at all in this case but obviously people have got wind of what has happened to others and have got worried.

Absolutely nothing wrong in trying to take a child to the match and bending the rules ever so slightly to try to accommodate it.

In the context of this thread, bending the rules is both allowed and not allowed according the majority. It’s okay in some instances and it’s not okay in others. People, and the club, need to decide whether they want the rules followed or not. For what it’s worth, the bitching and moaning of fans this season due to demand increasing severely has caused pretty much all of this and as many people have said it never used to be an issue.

In this example however, it’s just poor decision making on the families part. If I told my Mrs I’d bought my son a ticket in a totally different part of the ground and it was going to be dicey getting him in on it she’d quite rightly have gone through me. They cost themselves the ticket money and unfortunately have nobody to blame but themselves.
 
Last week I went to a concert at the dark side .first thing I bought 2 tickets 3 days before from a man who could not go .as happens in life .he was over the moon to get 80 quid and transferred the qr codes straight away .illegal in football away tickets .so we went in no drugs dogs sniffing my balls .and nobody patting me up and down just about assaulting me ha.lone behold I could drink the dreaded beer actually in my seat .there was nobody checking my ticket 3 or 4 times and I actually found my way to my seat .imagine that .at anfield this year there was 3 security checks and took 30 mins just to get in .what has happened to paul and the 65 fans just shows us how shit footy fans are treated by clubs .most of the time being treated like animals and the attitude of our club towards away fans is scandalous. They do not care .they do not help anybody .this is the best time football wise we have had in 30 years and still our ticket office and customer service are abysmal
