SAFC - Fan Ban & Ticket Cancellations

But that isn't my argument. As I say I attended dozens of League One and Championship away games, and now we're in the Premier League I get to far fewer. That said, Cardiff at 12.30 or Norwich midweek simply isn’t possible for some of us - it's not just a 'claim'. The problems haven't suddenly gone away now that we're in the Premier League - they've always been there.

Reading some of the comments in this thread make me feel like my argument is pretty much being turned on its head, which I find odd.
If you had been to dozens of away games like you said a couple of times then you would have had enough for quite a few away days .in the last 3 years there has been enough available with low points to je be on 45 to 50.so how u on 20

He's obviously saying he's been to dozens and dozens of away games in his life which is neither here nor there. He hasn't accumulated enough points over the qualifying period by attending away matches and home cup games. He has the points he's earned.

You have the exact amount of points you have earned. If you'd gone to more home cup games and more aways in over the last 3 seasons you'd have a lot more. Really not sure what point you're making because you're miles away from the 40 point cut off for a lot of games this season.

I've been to dozens and dozens of away games but not in the last 10 years. It's a total non argument.

I've never said otherwise. Why would I be arguing anything other than I have the points that I earn?

I've no idea what point you're trying to make.

As above. I've said quite clearly that I went to dozens of away games throughout our League One and Championship games - my points was quite clearly that I'm not someone who is only wanting to go to games now that we're back in the Premier League.

It's bizarre the way some try to twist things in here.

Today is another example of the issues that the club have caused for fans.

I know of a family who have 4 match tickets, however, 3 in the lower tier and the youngest child (8 year old) is in the upper tier as he had 12 points so they were able to purchase his ticket in the 10+ phase.

The rules were you couldn’t buy an under 14 ticket without an adult ticket. Why and when did the club change these rules?

So the family had to decide what to do and given the scenario with ID checks they’ve decided not to use the tickets and throw away better part of £120, as they’re fearful of swapping a ticket with a friend so all 4 could be in the same tier. They decided the loss of £120 was the better option rather than risking losing their season ticket if selected for an ID check.

Surely it’s a breach of safeguarding rules by the club enabling a child to attend a game without appropriate adult supervision.

I dont keep records but think over the 3 years in Championship would have been possible to earn over 40 points. I get that it wasnt particularly appealing under Beale & Dodds, Portsmouth away early last season was difficult and Cardiff/Bristol on Good Friday was problematic but attend these matches and have the points so can go to more PL games.

How many tickets are now going to become available? Given this is a personal attack on P rather than a consistent application of the rules.

Whatever those without sufficient points think surely not even they can think cancelling the other 64 from scum because P bought them was fair? Then to allow some to compete against those with a fraction of points for their tickets takes the piss.

The club have dealt with this terribly. Just like they have with downgrading from corporate tickets to standard and the waiting list. However, thats benefitted those who couldnt be bothered attending home games in L1 and Championship.

Some mental gymnastics here trying to twist the very simple point you made which was incredibly easy to understand

So the family had already purchased 3 tickets and then decided to purchase a single ticket, in a different tier, for a child? I mean even if you shouldn’t have been able to do so why on earth would you purchase a ticket for an 8 year old in a completely different tier to everyone else?

Honestly mate it's bizarre. Glad someone else can see it

I can't imagine many, if anyone thinks that the way he's been treated is fair.

I have limited sympathy with that situation mind. They knew about id checks before they bought the tickets. Bought a kids ticket in a different tier after buying 3 in the lower tier and have now suddenly decided its too risky for them to attend.

Do you mean you went to dozens over the last few season or dozens per season over the last few seasons?

We know of 2 of the 65 that didn’t go on sale as one of the lads told me today a supplier of there’s rang up to renew their 76 yards tickets and they asked if they had any tickets left for Newcastle as they’d seen the message about 65 tickets being cancelled. They said “it’s your lucky day, we can give you 2 tickets”. They had 0 loyalty points.

The onus is on the family here for being downright stupid. Just becuase the system would allow me to buy a ticket for my 7yr old bairn in a completely different part of the ground, why would I?

Also, they were prepared to go as a family of 3 before they sourced the 4th ticket so I’m not buying that they suddenly all can’t go today because if this situation they created themselves, it’s absolute nonsense.

From what I’ve read on here you don’t seem the sort to do it but if it does come to a legal situation have you considered a gofundme to ensure you have decent legal support? I’m sure people you’ve helped over the years would be happy to pay. I wouldn’t know you from Adam and I’ve never had any help from you but I’d support it as it seems faceless people in the ticket office have made a decision behind closed doors and there’s no accountability or discussion.

People blame the club , but there where nowhere near as many problems when the club sorted the tickets , now the job is outsourced to 3rd party companies like stub hub , and this is what is causing 99% of the problems
