I really don’t and I think I’m saying we both need to watch out next year as it takes 3-5 seasons for a team to establish themselves as we’ve already experienced

…but yeah maybe just listening to an echo chamber is the way to go. After all every club always gets better season after season and none of them ever fall back due to mismanagement, complacency, faster progress from their peer clubs or player power

Best just to keep posting things like ‘we’re f***ing mint marra’…that seems to be what you’re looking for after all…

It was a humourous shout but let's not forget James Maddison is on the back of a major injury, is nearly 30 and is potentially relegated next month.

Not sure where the confidence about them comes from. Last season Southampton very nearly beat Derbys record for worst ever team and ipswich spent £100m on players not good enough for the PL.

At least 2 promoted teams will go down next season. The championship is abysmal standard this season

Any season is difficult in the PL whether it’s your 1st, 2nd or 25th, we all know that. We will strengthen the squad again, wont have AFCON to contend with and hopefully won’t have 8 players injured nearly every gameweek but as always, 40 points will be the main target again next season.

SCR will fuck them up, especially Ipswich and Southampton, who already have big wage bills. They'll all be having to keep wages/amortisation down to a pretty low figure unless they can generate a big profit selling someone.

Have you never watched football before? Both Chelsea and Man Utd will be all over this kind of "discount, bargain" signing due to not actually having a proper transfer policy

I haven't read much about SCR. Is there some form of grace period for existing squads, or are clubs like Leeds, Fulham, and Bournemouth going to be straight into cut costs or pay a fine mode?

I say all this not to be a twat but just to excercise some caution. We came up under Bielsa and did brilliantly in our first season but soon fell away in 2&3. Of course we bought badly or underinvested at critical times and you seem to have a sensible owner and top DoF

It may not happen (and I actually hope it doesn’t) but 2nd season syndrome is a thing and we should both therefore look to avoid any complacency

I can't see it now. Not after the injury. A shame because he should have been starting for England but has been very unlucky with injuries.

There's scope to go over the 85% (up to 115%), but the tradeoff is reduced caps in future seasons until the overspend is cleared. Above 115%, and it's points deduction time, with a base of 6. The clubs have been monitored on a shadow basisthis season, so that a base point can be set for each club ahead of the start of next season. Coventry will now have to submit an outlne budget for their income next season, which will determine their cap.

Was just think SCR will surely make it much harder for most promoted clubs now. Unless you get promoted on the cheap or have big player sales it’s going to be a challenge. I wonder how those 5000 free season tickets can be counted or if it’s simply just lost revenue

Lost revenue. The cards are free next season because they were overpaid (a bit like crowdfunding).
